Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 697

Hearing her call out for "Mommy", Vincent felt a twist of conflict in his chest.

He couldn't shake the thought that Vanessa was really missing Scarlett.

What child wouldn't long for their mother?

But soon enough, his divorce proceedings with Scarlett would be headed to court.

The more he dwelled on it, the more he wondered—did they really have to go through with this?

When Sabrina returned to the villa next to Ravenshade Villa, she felt utterly drained.

Slumping onto the sofa, she replayed the online rumors and Vincent's cold demeanor in her head, a heavy sickness settling in her gut.

The place was quiet—too quiet—with none of the lived-in warmth she craved.

Her eyes wandered across the sterile room, and before she knew it, tears were rolling down her cheeks.

Just as she was sinking into self-pity, her phone lit up on the coffee table, followed by a sharp ringtone.

Sabrina glanced over, a faint, desperate hope flickering that it might be Vincent.

But it was just Maria.

Feeling too low to ignore it, Sabrina picked up.

"Sabrina, honey—I saw the news online. Are you... Are you okay?"

Maria didn't bother with small talk.

Hearing the concern in her mother's voice only made Sabrina cry harder. "Mom, I..."

Her words broke into a sob.

Sensing her daughter's state, Maria didn't push. Instead, she asked carefully, "Is any of what they're saying true? Did Daniel really kiss you?"

Sabrina hung her head. "Yeah... it happened."

Maria let out a long, strained sigh. "Oh, Sabrina... you really messed up this time."

"Mom, I'm only human," Sabrina shot back, voice thick with emotion. "I have needs too. When Daniel kissed me that day, part of me even thought about... just letting things go further."

That gave Maria pause. After a moment, her tone softened but remained firm. "Look, whatever happened, don't go running back to Vincent—and don't you dare beg. The more you beg, the less he'll respect you."

Sabrina stared at her lap. "But I already did. I already begged him."

"That's done, then," Maria said evenly. "From now on, don't see him, don't text him. Just stop."
