Kylie's eyes instantly reddened again. She stared at Damian with tears gathering in her eyes and asked shakily, "Do you really have to humiliate me like this?"
Damian let out a quiet laugh. "If that's what you call humiliation, then I guess there's no point continuing this conversation."
After saying that, he simply took Scarlett's hand and led her toward the private executive elevator.
Kylie remained standing there, watching Damian openly hold Scarlett's hand without the slightest intention of hiding it, watching him call Scarlett his wife so naturally, as though the title belonged to her alone.
For years at Langley Group, everyone had considered Kylie and Damian the perfect match, and people inside the company treated her like she was already the woman standing beside him. Even so, despite all those years of loyalty and effort, she had never once been allowed into that executive elevator.
Yet Scarlett could walk into Damian's world effortlessly without doing anything at all, receiving everything Kylie had spent years desperately trying to earn.
In the end, the one who isn't loved is the only real fool.
At five in the afternoon, Vincent finally returned to Ravenshade Villa from the office, and by then the sky over Rivergate had already gone completely dark.
Snow drifted steadily through the air in soft white sheets.
The moment Vincent stepped out of the car, he noticed the front door of the neighboring villa standing wide open, and several suitcases had already been piled near the entrance.
He frowned slightly, still trying to understand what was happening when Sabrina walked out carrying another suitcase in her hand.
The second she saw him, she smiled the same gentle smile she always wore, although this time the happiness behind it felt noticeably dimmer than before.
"Vincent."
Vincent's gaze swept over the luggage before settling on her again. "What's going on?"
Sabrina gave a small smile. "I'm heading back to Nebula City."
As soon as those words landed, Vincent's expression gradually cooled. "Did you book a ride already?"
Even he couldn't quite explain the strange heaviness settling in his chest after hearing she was leaving.
Sabrina still wore that calm smile as she answered, "My brother's coming to get me."
Vincent lowered his eyes slightly. "Got it."
Sabrina didn't continue the conversation. After carrying the suitcase outside, she simply looked at him and said, "Then I'm leaving."
Vincent still avoided looking directly at her. "Okay."
Just then, Caleb's SUV pulled up at the curb.
After getting out of the car, Caleb helped load the suitcases into the back one by one. Seeing Vincent still standing outside, he greeted him first.
"Vincent."
Vincent turned and smiled politely. "Caleb."
"Thanks for looking after Sabrina and me during all this time," Caleb said warmly. "We'll head out now, but next time we get the chance, let's sit down properly and catch up."
