Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 741

Vanessa's eyes were red from crying as she looked at Vincent. "But if you actually talked to her, do you really think she'd stay?"

The question instantly put Vincent in a worse mood. He pushed himself up from the couch so abruptly the movement startled her, then said in a low, heavy voice, "Go play by yourself. I'm going upstairs."

Without waiting for a response, he turned and headed toward the staircase.

But just as he reached the bottom step, Vanessa grabbed a robot toy from beside her and threw it at him as hard as she could.

The toy hit the back of his head before bouncing off his shoulder and tumbling down onto the floor.

Vincent stopped.

A long silence stretched between them before he slowly turned around and looked at her. "What exactly do you want from me?"

Vanessa glared back through tears, her whole face flushed from crying. "You're just like bad Mommy. Both of you are awful!"

Vincent's expression darkened little by little, his voice dropping colder with every word. "You're acting out for no reason."

Vanessa cried even harder. "Fine! You're a bad dad too! I don't want you anymore either!"

Vincent walked back toward her and looked down at her tear-streaked face. "Who taught you to say that? Sabrina?"

Vanessa lied without hesitation. "Scarlett did. She taught me all of it. She's the bad mommy."

The color drained from Vincent's face almost instantly.

His fingers curled tightly at his sides as he stared at her.

A moment later, he said coldly, "Starting today, your iPad is gone. You'll go to bed on time, wake up on time, and go to school every day. If you behave, you can watch TV or play games. If you don't, no dinner."

The moment he finished speaking, he turned and walked upstairs.

Behind him, Vanessa burst into loud sobs.

"Bad daddy! Bad daddy!"

Her cries echoed through the villa over and over again, but Vincent acted as though he couldn't hear a thing.

Scarlett had been right.

If Vanessa's behavior wasn't corrected now, she would only become more spoiled and impossible to manage later.

By the time Vincent reached the second floor, the sound of her screaming had faded away.

As soon as he entered the study, his phone rang.

He lowered his eyes and saw Amanda's name on the screen.

He didn't want to answer, but after she called two more times in a row, he finally picked up.

The second the call connected, Amanda asked, "How's the divorce going?"

For some reason, the question immediately irritated him.

"And what exactly do you get out of me divorcing her?" Vincent shot back sharply.

Amanda's tone turned unpleasant too. "Vincent, what kind of question is that? I'm doing this for your own good."

Vincent clearly had no patience for the conversation. "If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."

Before he could end the call, Amanda quickly asked, "So what do you actually want? Do you want the divorce or not? Or are you still trying to be with that Monroe girl?"

Vincent already felt irritated enough, and the question only made the mess in his head worse. "That's none of your business."
