Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 805

The stationery was yellowed and worn, clearly dating back several years, yet the handwriting across the page remained neat and delicate.

He hadn't bothered to read every word closely, but between the lines, he could almost picture Scarlett's state of mind when she'd penned those youthful, earnest lines all those years ago.

Back then, she must've loved him with every fiber of her being.

There were not one, but five or six sealed envelopes in total. He picked each one up for a quick glance before curling his fingers tight around the whole stack.

Staring at the aged, yellowed paper, a sudden, sharp urge welled up inside Vincent to tear every last letter to shreds.

His fingers hovered over the envelope flaps, ready to rip them apart, only for a surge of remorse to hold him back.

Reluctantly, he set all the letters back inside the storage box exactly as they'd been.

Barely had he finished tucking the box away when the sharp tap-tap of high heels echoed down the hallway outside the door.

Vincent darted a glance toward the entrance to spot Sabrina stepping into the room. He smoothly snapped the box shut without a sound, not letting a flicker of his inner turmoil show on his face.

The quieter and more reserved he acted, the more suspicious Sabrina grew. She padded over to stand beside him and lowered her voice.

"Vincent, what are you doing in here?"

Vincent slid the box deep into the closet and swung the closet door closed before answering flatly, "Nothing at all."

Reading his unwillingness to elaborate, Sabrina dropped the subject. "You really don't have to make such a big production out of this. Didn't you already buy a mansion next to Ravenshade Villa for me? We can use that as our place after we get married."

"It's only meant as temporary lodging for you," Vincent replied in a casual tone. "Oakland Villa beats that place hands down when it comes to surroundings and amenities. We'll move in here permanently right after the wedding."

Sabrina frowned, displeased by his call. "But I think the place by Ravenshade Villa is great. And it's not very convenient to pick up Vanessa from here."

Deep down, she knew Oakland Villa had originally been purchased as the newlyweds' home for Vincent and Scarlett.

They'd never resided there long-term, but the space was still steeped in their old memories.

Ravenshade also held pieces of their shared history.

So after the wedding, Sabrina didn't want to live at Ravenshade Villa, and she didn't want to live at Oakland Villa either. She wanted to move out and live alone with Vincent.

Ignoring her obvious dissatisfaction, Vincent laced his fingers through hers. "I only want to give you the absolute best there is."

His words left Sabrina with no room to argue.
