A searing kiss fell onto Madison's lips. Her soft lips carried a sweet scent that Sam couldn't resist.
His gaze darkened, and he instinctively deepened the kiss, possessively drawing out the sweetness within her mouth.
Madison hadn't expected Sam to suddenly kiss her. Her body went stiff, but she quickly forced herself to relax.
The person before her was her beloved Sam—not those men who disgusted her.
She didn't need to be afraid. She was back in the past now. She was clean!
Madison kept her eyes closed, hypnotizing herself over and over. However, her mind still spun out of control, and she recalled those nauseating scenes from her previous life.
"Sam… I-I've got a stomachache…"
Right before she felt an episode coming on, Madison braced both hands against Sam's chest and stopped him from kissing her further.
When he saw her frown and pained expression, Sam assumed her stomach was acting up again. A flicker of remorse crossed his eyes.
"Sorry… It's my fault. I'll have someone make you ginger tea, and I'll grab a heating pad for you."
As he spoke, he straightened Madison's slightly rumpled clothes, then turned and strode out.
Madison's eyes were full of guilt and anxiety as she watched his retreating back.
Today, she could use her period as an excuse to avoid going further with Sam. But what about next time?
It seemed she needed treatment as soon as possible.
With that in mind, Madison picked up the phone beside her and messaged Serene. "How much longer until you can wrap things up on your end?"
Serene: "It's all handled. I'm boarding tonight and will arrive the morning after tomorrow."
Madison: "Then I'll pick you up the morning after tomorrow."
Serene: "Sure. I can give you an assessment then. I'll assess your condition and form a treatment plan."
Madison: "Okay."
