Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 104

Chapter 104 She’s Mine

Everyone pulled up little stools and crowded around the stove.

In the Beast World, most people lived on nutrient solutions. They were efficient, provided balanced nutrition, and–admittedly-had absolutely no flavor. But people got used to it. Still, that didn’t mean their taste buds had died. They could tell good food from bad.

Layla sat there watching everyone go back for seconds, then thirds, forks flying like they were in a race li made her think that maybe she’d been too quick to call Shane a human garbage disposal. Turns out, they were all like that.

“I can’t believe what I’ve been missing my whole life.” Sebastian was gnawing on a lamb chop like his life depended on it, looking like he might actually cry.

Rowan was a slow eater by nature.

Jacob elbowed him. “You’re awfully fast today.”

Rowan ignored him and calmly snatched the lamb backbone right out from under Jacob’s fork.

[God damn it. Why did technology have to advance this far? I started cooking the moment Layla started prepping ingredients. Same steps. Better ingredients. Better cookware. Why did I end up with charcoal?]

[I’m starving. This was supposed to be a survival show, not a cooking show. I’m losing my mind.]

[It smells so good. Do people on Planet Frontier eat like this every day? We’re on Planet Central eating bland garbage while you guys are feasting?]

[Not really. Planet Frontier mostly lives on a nutrient solution, too. Who knew Layla could cook like this?]

[Maybe because she grew up poor. Couldn’t afford a nutrient solution, so she had to spend time cooking. Got good at it. I cook for myself too. Takes time, but poor people’s time isn’t worth much, so.]

[Now I feel bad for Layla again. A rich girl switched at birth, raised in poverty. Finally, she comes home, and her parents don’t give a damn about her. What Stella owes Layla isn’t just a few things. It’s her whole life.]

The hashtag “What StellaOwes LaylaIsHerWhole Life” quietly climbed the trending charts as everyone ate with wild abandon.

Not that any of them noticed. They were too busy fighting over the last piece of meat and the last drop of

gravy.

“How did I never know food could taste this good?” Seren placed the last rosemary-garlic lamb chop on Avery’s plate, then poured the rest of the lamb stew into his bowl and ate it eagerly.

Avery looked at the chop on his plate and silently took small, delicate bites. He ate like a gentleman. Among this group of beastkins-both male and female, most of whom ate like barbarians-he was at a disadvantage. If Seren hadn’t been constantly piling food onto his plate, he wouldn’t have gotten enough to

eat.

“Layla’s cooking is just that good,” Avery said quietly.

“True.” Seren finished his stew, rubbed his belly in satisfaction, and watched Shane bustle around Layla “Prof. Slater’s a lucky man.”

Avery turned his head to look at Seren. The corner of his mouth dipped slightly. He slowed down his cating.

Shane pushed Layla into a chair. “Don’t move. Let me rub your shoulders.”

“I’m not that fragile,” Layla laughed.

“I know you’re not. But you’ve been running around all day. I feel bad for you.”

George, who was still gnawing on his roasted fish, looked up and shot Shane a dirty look. His mouth drooped. Suddenly, the fish didn’t taste as good anymore.

He picked off a piece of the belly meat and held it out to Layla. “Try this.”

Layla blinked. “What’s wrong? Doesn’t it taste good?”

“Just try it,” George huffed.

Layla took the fish, tasted it, and chewed thoughtfully. “Tastes fine to me.”

“That’s why I gave you a piece.”

George lifted his chin toward Shane, who was still massaging Layla’s shoulders.

Shane’s face darkened.

[LOL! Poaching right in front of him. George, you’ve got some nerve.]
