Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 126

Chapter 126 Shane Was Even More Important Than Liam

“Alright, if he doesn’t want to say, then don’t push him. He’ll open up when he’s ready,” Liam cut in, breaking the tense air.

George let out a sigh of relief, thankful Liam had his back. But the relief didn’t last long. The very next j second, Shane’s cold gaze locked onto Liam. Liam immediately ducked his head, stuffed a piece of jerky into his mouth, and went quiet.

George scoffed inside his head.

So much for having my back. Damn, Shane was always quiet and low-key when he was with Stella. How’d he get so terrifying around Layla?

Liam shot George a look that said he was on his own.

George got it. If he were in Shane’s place, he wouldn’t want to spill the truth either.

Liking someone meant he pursued them properly. Using a favor to hold something over someone? That was just lame. He knew George felt the exact same way.

But Shane wasn’t going to drop it. In his mind, actions meant something. He said what he meant. He didn’t get all the messy mind games people played.

Listening to Shane’s relentless questioning and George’s stubborn silence, Layla started to piece things together.

She looked up at George. “Did you come here on purpose just to save us?”

George glanced at her.

I told you I didn’t want to talk about this! Why are you still asking?

Besides, you’re asking the wrong thing. “Save us”? I only came for her.

Whatever. I don’t wanna talk to this ungrateful girl anyway.

A faint look of pity crossed Shane’s face as he watched George. Both he and Liam could see exactly how George felt. Too bad Layla couldn’t.

Poor guy.

Their past was way too complicated. Even if George confessed his feelings for Layla right now, she’d never believe him.

Shane and Liam weren’t perfect either. Shane kept pressing him because George had genuinely helped them out a lot.

But if George was set on staying quiet, Shane couldn’t force him to speak.

Layla pushed further, “Well? Is that it? Just say something! Why are you being so stubborn?”

George shot her a sharp glare. “Don’t flatter yourself!”

When she heard that, Layla didn’t get mad or snap back like she usually did. Instead, for some reason, she quietly exhaled in relief.

A weird, unnameable feeling washed over her.

Seeing the clear relief on her face, George’s heart sank. The jerky in his mouth suddenly had no taste at all.

An awkward silence fell over the cave.

Everyone could tell Layla had no romantic feelings for George. At least not right now.

A soft little whimper broke the silence.

Layla perked up at once. She hurried over, gently picked up the tiny pika, and held him in her palms. “Yates?”

The pika slowly opened his eyes and met her gaze. “Layla? You’re okay! That’s awesome!”

Layla’s eyes stung.

Silly boy.

“Are you hurt anywhere? Do you feel sick?”

Yates shook his head. “Just a little sore.”

“Can you shift back?” Shane asked.

He didn’t love how Layla was holding Yates so close, but the kid had almost died. If they were talking about adding people to their group, he liked Yates way more than most.

Yates focused hard. Shifting back was slow, but he pulled it off. He sat down next to Layla, looking miserable and totally pitiful.

“I’m fine. I just swallowed a little water. I saw George show up right after I fell in.”

He hadn’t really been drowning as much as he’d gotten knocked out from the fall,

His size was the real problem. Something small enough to fit in the palm, unable to swim at all, falling into the ocean… it was a miracle he survived at all, and only because George got there so fast.

“Let’s all rest up for now,” George said. “This spot is safe for the time being. Later on, I’ll head out and try to contact the show production crew.”

While they were thinking about reaching out to production, the crew was already spiraling into total panic. Fiona especially.

In less than half a day, she’d gotten countless calls from higher-ups, each one more stressful and demanding than the last.

It finally hit her just how vital Liam and Shane were. From everything she’d heard, Shane was even more important than Liam.
