Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 130

Chapter 130 You’re Pretty Naive

Yates let out a soft huh, looking utterly stunned, like he never expected Liam to ask. He paused for a second before answering. “I read about them in books. But the one we saw was way bigger and uglier than any of the ones written down.”

“Most people think pterosaurs are just myths. You actually believed they were real?” George asked, staring at Yates in surprise.

“I really did,” Yates said earnestly. “People can’t make up creatures they’ve never laid eyes on. If nobody had ever seen one, how could they describe them so precisely, even down to the size of their teeth?”

Liam let out a quiet laugh. “You’re pretty naive.”

“It’s not naivety,” Yates argued, sounding a little defensive. “I truly thought they existed. And hey, didn’t we just get proven right?”

“And you consider that a good thing?”

“Well, we’re still alive, aren’t we? Later on, I’ll be able to say I saw a Quetzalcoatlus and survived its attack. How cool is that?”

Liam had no comeback. The rest of them stared at Yates, and the tense mood in the cave lightened up a little.

Layla smiled softly, warmth glinting in her eyes, “Still just a kid at heart.

Liam nodded, chuckling, “Totally.”‘

Shane glanced down at his leg wound, went quiet for a moment, then spoke up, “We can’t just sit around waiting for someone else to save us. That’s too unreliable.”

The others brushed it off at first, simply agreeing he had a point.

But Liam flinched. He picked up on Shane’s hidden meaning: the higher-ups weren’t sending rescue. They were on their own.

“We have no food left. If we don’t get out today, we’ll only grow weaker tomorrow,” Shane said, his tone serious even as he leaned against Layla’s shoulder.

“I can catch fish,” George offered.

Shane shook his head slightly, his arm tightening subtly around Layla’s waist. “That’s not what I’m talking about. We still need to assess our situation. It’s been over three hours since I injected my venom. I’m going up to take a look outside.”

“Your wound hasn’t healed yet!” Layla whipped her head around, her eyes full of disapproval. “No. I’m not letting you take that risk.”

“There’s no other option right now,” Shane said, nuzzling into the crook of her neck. “You and Liam can’t swim. George’s injury is still too bad. I’m the only one who can do this.”

Layla opened her mouth to argue, but Shane pressed a finger to her lips. “I promise you, I’ll come right back

to you.”

“Come back safe.”

“Alright. I will.”

Shane shifted back into his snake form. The wound on his tail tip had healed noticeably, with fresh pink flesh already growing over it.

Layla’s eyes followed him as he left.

“Why don’t you just go with him?” George snapped, instantly irked by the lovesick look on Layla’s face. He couldn’t stop himself from jabbing at her.

Layla had no patience for bickering. She shot him a glare, sat back down, and began gently kneading her sore muscles.

Another fight might be coming. She needed to get back to peak condition as soon as possible.

Or at the very least, not be completely useless.

Realizing she wouldn’t rise to his jab, George felt kind of silly. He closed his eyes and stayed quiet too.

Liam was also resting to recover his strength. Only Yates had nothing to occupy himself with. He stood up and started tidying up the messy cave for George.

George heard the noise, cracked one eye open to glance at him, then shut it again.

The only sound left in the cave was the quiet, unobtrusive rustle of Yates cleaning up.

Shortly after Yates finished tidying, Shane returned.

Layla hadn’t been asleep. At the sound of movement, her eyes flew open and she hurried over. She scanned Shane’s tail first, checking that his wound hadn’t reopened, before she finally relaxed.

“What’s it like out there?” Liam asked, opening his eyes as Shane shifted back into human form.

“I’m fine,” Shane said. He steadied Layla with one hand first, then reported, “I poked my head above the water. The Quetzalcoatlus is still circling overhead. Its wounds are untreated and still bleeding, but its flying speed has slowed down a lot. The venom and the herbs are definitely working.”

That was great news. Everyone exhaled in relief, and the cave’s atmosphere eased even more.

“Also, the show crew must be searching for us. I saw broken Vanguard pieces floating on the ocean surface.”

That was another small win for them.
