The Vanguard got swatted away by the beast’s wing. The package tore open, and a large, unidentifiable bloody chunk of meat plummeted straight down, heading right for their hiding spot.

“Oh my god!” George yelled, frantically using his water abilities to shift their group out of the way.

But the meat never reached the water. The Quetzalcoatlus snatched it mid-air, gulped it down in two quick bites, and swallowed it whole.

“Are you kidding me? The directors are insane!” George cursed. They weren’t helping at all-they were feeding the beast. Did they want them dead faster?

George was utterly stunned.

Shane shifted back into human form and stood beside Layla. “The meat was most likely poisoned,” he said calmly.

“You’re the only venomous person in our entire group. What other poison could there possibly be?” George

shot back.

“Did you forget about Yates?” Shane asked, his gaze still locked on the circling beast.

That shut George up instantly. It clicked. Herbivore beastkin usually knew plenty about medicinal and toxic plants. There were other herbivore contestants on the show too.

“So the production team is actually trying to save us?”

Shane nodded. The higher-ups hadn’t sent a rescue squad, but this plan might actually get them out alive He patted Liam on the back. “Your turn first.”

Liam’s eyes widened. “Me? Now?”

That thing just ate! It’s still hungry. I’d be nothing but a walking snack!

Liam let out a cold chuckle, then surfaced, shifted into his deer form, and burst out of the water. ‘Hey, you big clumsy brute! Come get me!”

The moment Liam bolted, the Quetzalcoatlus reacted instantly. It spread its wings and gave chase, yet it was still noticeably slow. Harsh screeches filled the air as it struggled to close the gap.

“That thing is so loud,” George complained, rubbing his ears.

Layla frowned. “Yeah, it really is.”
