Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 170

Chapter 170 The Clue to Starcore Ore

Shane glanced at Layla. “East side. You’re sure?”

“What, you think I can’t tell east from west? Shane, are you looking down on me?”

Layla caught Shane’s look and understood immediately. The “water buffalo” Liam was talking about was more than just a water buffalo. It was something far more important, like Starcore Ore.

After all, they were both searching for Starcore Ore.

If it were really a water buffalo, Liam wouldn’t need to call Shane specifically. He knew perfectly well there were plenty of people at Layla’s place, some far stronger than Shane. He’d have no reason to make Shane come out specifically.

The only possible explanation, he’d genuinely found a lead on Starcore Ore.

Behind the Vanguard, Layla mouthed at Shane. “Is it Starcore Ore?”

Shane nodded and spoke into the Vanguard. “Is it big? Should Layla and I both come?”

There was a pause from the other end. “Shane! Are you that dependent on your mate? It’s manual labor. Why would you drag her into this? To carry your water buffalo for you? You’re a male! Stop dragging females into everything, alright?”

Shane clearly disagreed with this assessment but had no way to argue with him.

“How far? I’m leaving now.”

“Pretty far. Take your Vanguard and walk. Just head east from your place. Once I see you’re close, I’ll call you.”

In essence, he would monitor Shane through Vanguard.

“Alright.” Shane turned to Layla. “I’m leaving now. Wait for me at home.”

“Be careful and stay safe,” she replied.

“Okay.” With that, Shane hurried off with Vanguard.

Outside, Yates and others inquired about his destination, but he remained vague, simply stating, “I’ve got something to do.”

His lack of details only heightened their curiosity.

Seren, ever inquisitive, asked Layla upon her arrival, “Where’s Prof. Slater?”

“Oh, General Hartwell said he took down a water buffalo on the east side. He can’t haul it back and asked Shane to help.”

“Water buffalo?” Seren blinked. “Those things are huge, sure, but General Hartwell can’t haul it back?”

He thought Liam was strong, so it was surprising to learn there were limits.

Chapter 120 The Clue to Starcore Ore

Who knows with him?” Layla brushed it aside. With Starcore Ore involved, she didn’t elaborate

By the time the crew from Emily’s cabin arrived, Yates and Seren had already unloaded all the charcoal from the kiln.

It was a novelty, but nobody dwelled on it. Everyone went about their assigned tasks, some hauling clay. some gathering dry grass.

Layla inspected the batch of charcoal. Satisfied it had fired properly, she relaxed. “Any of you want some? We’re firing another batch, right?”

This kiln’s worth wouldn’t nearly be enough for their own winter needs. Another firing was inevitable.

“Can we test it today?” Seren was hesitant.

He’d eaten barbecue. He’d seen barbecue charcoal. He just hadn’t realized what Layla was making was the exact same thing.

It looked like it had fired correctly, but they wouldn’t know for sure until they tried it.

Making it wasn’t overly complicated, but the process was filthy. It had left both him and Yates covered in

soot.

If the charcoal didn’t work well, the mess wasn’t worth it.

“If it works, let’s dig another kiln right next to this one. We want to make some, too,” Blaze chimed in from where he was laying a wall. He added, with a note of bragging, “I don’t mind the cold, personally. But Hanna is a female. Now that we’re sharing a place, I can’t let her freeze.”

“Who asked you? Did anyone here çare that you’re shacking up with Hanna? Because I sure don’t!” Seren’s voice was thick with frustration, envy, and spite.

“Jealous?” Blaze preened even more. “You’re with Avery every day and you’re jealous of me? Speaking of which, why isn’t Avery here today? Don’t tell me you pissed him off again.”

“Nonsense. He said he was going to forage today. Wonder what he’s found. You think a pretty butterfly like him can actually forage for anything?”

“Cicadas, probably,” Blaze deadpanned.

Seren’s face flushed. “Blaze!”
