Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 201

Chapter 201 The Alliance

“Deal.” Layla gave Liam a half-hearted high-five, then went back to skinning the lion.

Before long, the hide was cleanly separated.

But it still needed to be washed and scrubbed. The fresh water Layla had brought back was only enough for a quick rinse to remove the bloodstains. Draped over the shoulders, it certainly wasn’t particularly comfortable.

But at least Liam could shift back to human form.

Layla eyed Liam, now wrapped in the lion pelt with his arms and calves left bare. She frowned. “Won’t he be cold like that?”

“He’s a male beastkin. He won’t feel the cold. Don’t worry about him.” Shane said, pulling Layla down to st on a rock. “Rest here a while. I’ll find firewood and cook something. We’ll eat, then figure out how to get back.”

Their descent had been nearly vertical, and that strange, electric-like barrier in the middle meant retracing their path was impossible.

They’d have to settle in first, then search for another way up.

Shane left the cave. Layla didn’t rest. She sectioned the lion meat, ready to roast once Shane returned with wood.

Liam moved closer and sat on another rock. “So, uh…”

He opened his mouth, then closed it again.

After a long pause without further words, Layla turned to him. “What did you want to say?”

“You mentioned a rebellion. Were you serious?”

“Of course. What else?” Layla countered.

“Whose idea was it?”

“Mine and his. It’s a joint decision,” Layla replied, continuing to cut the meat.

“Why would you consider that?” Liam asked, confused. “Is it just because the Grant family doesn’t accept ¡you?”

“What does the Grant family have to do with it?” Layla was confused, then caught his reasoning. “Do you think I’m dragging everyone else into my personal grudge against Stella?”

“Isn’t that what you’re doing?”

“Even if I am, do you think Shane is the kind of person who would do that?”

Liam fell silent.

Chapter 201 The Alliance

Shane certainly wasn’t that kind of person.

At least, the old Shane wasn’t. As for the Shane who’d gotten together with Layla, Liam couldn’t quite read him anymore. It felt as if nothing had changed, yet so much had.

“Why would Shane think that?”

“Probably because he’s finally opened his eyes.”

Liam fell silent again, while Layla skillfully carved the lion meat, her knife moving deftly.

Liam watched her deft movements, his gaze tracking her hands as they drifted into abstraction.

After some time, he tugged at her sleeve.

“What is it now?” Layla looked down.

Her hair was disheveled from the rush to find him, two strands slipping from her temple. She looked down at him, gentle inquiry in her soft gaze, radiating an unconscious warmth and intelligence.

Liam thought it must be a trick of the light. Layla couldn’t possibly look at him with such tenderness.

Yet she was so beautiful right now. He couldn’t look away.

When Liam didn’t speak further, Layla asked again, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” Liam shook his head.

“Okay.” Layla nodded and turned back to her work.

A moment later, Liam tugged her sleeve again. “Do you… still hate me?”

“When did I ever say I hated you?”

“Before. When the show first started.” Liam sounded wronged, then immediately deflated with guilt. “That was my fault. I admit it. Can you… not hate me?”

“We’ve already talked about this. I don’t hate you anymore.”

“They say if you don’t hate someone, it means you like them,” Liam probed cautiously.

Layla’s breath caught. “Who are ‘they’?”

“You know… the netizens in the live chat.”

“You actually believe what those netizens say? They also say George likes me.”

“Do you think George doesn’t like…” Liam cut himself off mid-sentence.

No! I can’t say that!

Before, when Shane had forbidden him from pursuing Layla, he’d stirred the pot on purpose, nudging Layla and George together to mess with Shane.
