Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 203

Chapter 203 Facilitating Happiness

“Isn’t love supposed to be selfish?” Layla looked at Shane with pure, stubborn confusion. She didn’t understand how he could think this way.

Shane cupped her face and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I used to think that too. But lately, I’ve realized that love is about facilitating happiness. More than monopolizing you, I want you to be happy. I want you to have the best possible future.”

He’d agreed to let Liam pursue Layla partly because Liam genuinely liked her and partly because of the potential benefits to her future.

Layla had never spelled it out in detail, but from everything she’d done lately and from the things she’d said in their conversations, he could see her ambitions extended far beyond this single, insignificant Planet Al.

The Hartwell Legion had been targeted and stripped of its glory after the previous General Hartwell’s death.

But the fact that so many had united against it proved the Legion had something they feared.

Only mediocrity escaped envy.

That Liam couldn’t find peace even on Planet A13 only confirmed that those people feared him. They feared his rise. They feared he might actually restore the Legion to its former power.

That alone revealed Liam’s capability.

If Layla could win him over, the help he could offer her future would be immense.

Besides, Layla really had liked Liam before. That had only faded because of what happened later.

But the feelings she’d once had weren’t false. And recently, their relationship had thawed considerably. Shane figured it was only a matter of time before Liam won her over.

Honestly, he definitely cared, to some extent.

But Layla’s reaction right now proved how much she cared about him, and that dissolved the last knot of unease in his heart.

Layla understood Shane’s meaning. So did Liam.

The moment Shane released her, Liam stepped forward quickly.

“I’m in a bit of a bind right now. I really shouldn’t be telling you this at a time like this.”

Before, when Layla hadn’t known his feelings, she could banter with him easily. But now that she knew his true feelings and saw him like this, she felt a bit awkward.

“But since I’ve brought it up, I feel like there might not be a better moment.

“What I said before, about not liking Stella, I meant it.

“I was with Stella because the Hartwell family, the Hartwell Legion, needed the Grant family’s wealth. I needed a marital family that could back me.”

Chapter 203 Facilitating Happiness

Layla pressed her lips together. “I know.”

Liam had clarified this before. She didn’t see anything wrong with it.

Liam still had so much he wanted to say, but her two words blocked it all.

“So, don’t you have anything to ask?” he asked tentatively.

Layla shook her head.

She couldn’t quite tell if she had questions.

She had many questions but felt it unnecessary to ask them.

Shane had fallen for her out of the blue back then.

Now, even Liam had inexplicably fallen for her.

“Is there really nothing you want to ask?” Liam asked.

It was as if he couldn’t rest until she posed at least one question.

“I…” Layla paused before continuing, “Don’t you need a marital family to back you now?”

Liam turned to glance at Shane, the corners of his mouth curving upward in a smile. “I think you’re better than the Grant family.

“Besides, I’ve always said that you’re the true heiress to the Grant family, Compared to Stella, I’d much rather the person inheriting it was you.”

Layla turned to look at Shane as well.

When he’d asked if she wanted to build a mecha processing plant, she’d known he held high hopes for her.

She’d agreed immediately, partly to not disappoint him, partly because she genuinely wanted it herself.

Now, Liam’s intentions were clear. He wanted her to reclaim her claim to the Grant family.

She asked directly, “Do you still want me to fight for it?”

Liam fell silent for a beat. His breath seemed to stop. Guilt flickered in his eyes. “About that, I have to apologize to you.

“Back then, I only said it to stir up drama. I apologize.
