Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 226

Chapter 226 The Unwelcome Olive Branch

Layla stepped closer to Stella, leaning in slightly.

“That’s too bad.”

She looked into Stella’s panicked eyes and said, “I’ve always been the type to hold grudges.

“Since your elders upset me, I’ll need to have a ‘chat with you, dear sister.”

Stella’s body trembled uncontrollably, a mix of anger and fear.

Just as the tension peaked and no one knew how to defuse it, a steady male voice broke through the crowd.

“Ms. Hale, I’m glad you’re safe. Welcome back.”

Carson strode over, clapping his hands.

The moment he appeared, the pressure in the air seemed to shift. Those contestants who’d been about to say another word on Stella’s behalf all instinctively shut their mouths.

Carson didn’t spare so much as a glance at the thoroughly disgraced Stella, as if she were merely an inconvenient stone in his path.

His gaze locked directly onto Layla.

“I hear you discovered an energy field. There may be immense commercial potential within it.” He nudged his glasses. The lenses reflected the firelight. “Would you be willing to share the relevant intelligence? The Grant Group is prepared to make you a very generous offer.”

He deliberately emphasized the words “Grant Group” with three objectives in mind.

He was testing the true nature of Layla’s relationship with the Grant family, using the Grant family’s name to intimidate her, and, on behalf of a certain faction, directly proposing a deal.

No one in the clearing was stupid. They instantly parsed the layered implications.

In that moment, every gaze converged on Layla.

Stella’s head snapped up, a flicker of desperate hope in her eyes.

Carson was helping her! If Layla sold the intelligence to the Grant family, Stella could still redeem herself.

Layla smiled.

She toyed idly with a strand of her hair, posture perfectly relaxed, as if she hadn’t detected the hidden barbs in his words at all.

“You must be joking.”

She raised her eyes to look at the business tycoon.

“You should be more familiar with Planet A13’s official survey reports than I am. We had no such luck. We

Just got lost.”

Her response was impeccable.

She neither confirmed nor denied it.

With a casual shrug, she passed the responsibility back to him.

Carson narrowed his eyes behind his glasses, observing her before smiling.

“Is that so? What a pity.”

He didn’t press further, just nodded, turned, and left. From start to finish, he didn’t deign to waste a single glance on Stella beside him.

When powerful figures clash, they narrowly avoid crossing the line.

And Stella was completely out of the picture.

Even the capital powerbroker she’d hoped to lean on had bypassed her entirely to speak directly with Layla

The last color drained from Stella’s face.

Layla couldn’t be bothered to look at her any longer. She turned, took Shane’s other arm, and said to Liam and George. “Let’s go. Time to rest.”

“Got it!” George replied cheerfully.

As he passed Stella, he paused, leaned in close to her ear, and with a voice only the two of them could hear, let out a nasty little laugh. “Tsk. How pathetic.”

Having said that, he cheerfully fell into step behind Layla.

The four of them walked, under the complex stares of the entire camp, back to their own temporary site.

The Vanguard cameras still followed, but they were tactful enough to stop outside.

The moment they were in the tent, George could no longer hold back. He rolled on the ground laughing.

“Hahaha, did you see Stella’s face? It was like a paint palette! And you, Liam! That step you took was brilliant! I’d almost give you an award!”

Liam ignored him. He quietly found a clean hide and spread it on the ground, carefully helping Shane lie down.

Once he was done, he turned, coldly watching George cackle, and spat, “Shut up.”

“I won’t!” George vaulted up from the ground and ran to Layla to claim credit. “Layla! That jab I made at her, wasn’t it cool? Wasn’t it especially satisfying?”
