Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 248

Chapter 248 The Treehouse

Layla remained with Shane, George, and Liam.

Yates had quit the show out of fear.

Other males who tried to join Layla were glared down by George and Liam.

They didn’t even finish their sentences before tucking their tails and running.

Trying to steal our mate? Know your place.

Layla quickly used her knowledge and experience from the apocalypse to select a tree roughly ten stories tall.

The trunk at about the fifth floor was ideal.

They could also build a lookout post at the top to survey the surroundings.

And that height wouldn’t be too hard for non-flyers like Shane to climb.

Layla spread her wings first and flew to the planned height to inspect.

Surprisingly, the tree, roughly twenty feet in diameter, had a hollow center.

Faint rustling came from inside.

Probably an indigenous insect’s doing.

Layla thought for a moment and returned to the ground.

She described the situation, and Shane frowned.

“Given the size of the plants on this planet, creatures are probably huge too. We shouldn’t go in recklessly.”

But Layla just grinned, completely calm.

She quickly gathered dry branches and started making torches.

George leaned in curiously. “Layla, what are you doing?”

Layla held a lit torch in her hand and gave George a mysterious smile.

“Having a friendly, peaceful chat with the insect, asking it to vacate its warm little home.”

George gulped.

That expression on Layla’s face meant she was definitely up to no good.

Earlier, Layla spotted a plant resembling a reed, but three times larger.

She uprooted it, flew back to the tree hollow, pressed her palms together, and said, “We’ll just borrow your home for a month. We’ll return it, promise.”

Then she stuffed the reed into the hole.

She heard something moving inside, the sound of a writhing body, just like a worm.

Layla tossed the torch inside.

Within five minutes, thick smoke poured out of the hole.

Even from fifteen feet away, she coughed a few times.

The rustling grew louder.

Then a giant white worm crawled out of the opening!

Layla saw the tiny legs under its belly and felt her teeth go sour.

During the apocalypse, finding a worm this big would have meant a good source of protein.

But now, looking at it made her skin crawl.

If one worm was this large, a terrifying world of creatures awaited them.

And the production team actually claimed there was no danger!

Layla laughed coldly and returned to the ground.

George stared in disbelief as the worm slowly crawled down the tree.

He was about to freak out!

“Oh my god, what is that? It’s disgusting! Are there more bugs like this on this planet?”

Layla quickly grabbed another torch and patted George’s shoulder.

“It’s okay. I don’t think it’s aggressive. Just step back.”

Hearing that, George looked at Layla with shining eyes.

That’s my Layla. My brave, wise mate!

Thankfully, other than its size, the worm was no different from ordinary bugs.

When it reached the ground and saw Layla and the others, it turned and wriggled its fat body into the distant jungle before Layla could even wave the torch.

In a painless effort, Layla secured a natural tree hollow suitable for their family of four.
