Chapter 249 Taming the Beast
George immediately protested. “No! I want to go with you. Liam will just make me do everything.”
Before he could finish, Liam grabbed him by the collar and said. “Is it really that hard for you to come with me?
George immediately complied.
He shrank his neck and feigned innocence. “It’s not hard. I absolutely love working with you
Layla smiled at the scene.
But she still told Liam, “Don’t pick on him. Take good care of him.”
Liam lifted his chin and looked sidelong at George. “If he behaves.”
George nodded instantly. “Don’t worry, General Hartwell.”
Hmph! Just wait till I get my chance. I’ll get back at him
As they watched George and Liam leave, Layla turned to Shane. “Let’s go.”
Layla had her reasons.
She didn’t feel comfortable leaving Shane with either George or Liam.
George was too flighty, couldn’t even take care of himself, let alone a weakened Shane.
As for Liam, he got too focused on tasks.
He might accidentally lose Shane, who had no sense of direction.
Shane clearly understood Layla’s arrangement and smiled faintly.
“Layla, you’ll have to protect me.”
Hearing those words from a face so cool and slightly sinister made Layla’s heart pound.
She bit her lip, cleared her throat, and nodded. “Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of you.”
The live chat in their stream exploded with activity.
[Spell out exactly what “taking care” means! I’m the most prestigious VIP on the entire platform, I deserve to hear it!]
[Layla’s stream is so sweet. I just came from Stella’s, and you have no idea how speechless I am.]
[Let’s not mention Stella. Bad vibes.]
[Bad vibes? I think you’re just jealous.]
[Really? Are there still Stella fans? Looks like you’re as malicious as she is.]

Chapter 249 Tammg the Heart
Layla saw the viewers arguing and smiled, then temporarily muted the chat.
She reached out to Shane and blinked. “Let’s go.”
Shane looked at Layla’s pale palm, blushed slightly, but firmly placed his hand in hers.
Layla held Shane’s hand tightly and began exploring the unknown planet.
Almost everything on this planet closely resembled Earth during the Jurassic period.
Layla was pleased.
That meant her knowledge would come in handy.
Just as she was about to head back, Shane’s expression changed.
He pulled Layla behind a large rock.
Before Layla could ask what was wrong, Shane gently covered her mouth, his eyes tense, shaking his head slightly.
Then Layla felt the ground tremble.
Her heart leaped. Her ears twitched.
Something huge was coming toward them.
Layla peeked out in the direction of the sound.
She saw a creature roughly thirty times the size of a normal chicken.
It wasn’t really a chicken. Dinosaur might be more accurate.
Its beak was lined with fangs, its eyes blood-red, and even its feathers looked razor-sharp.
The giant chicken seemed to sense something.
It suddenly spread its wings and slashed at a tree. A towering tree fell.
Excited, it pounced on the trunk, pecked hard, and pulled out a worm like the one earlier, swallowing it in one gulp.
Layla’s mouth twitched. So it’s a forest doctor.
Wait. It just cut down a whole tree. Does that still count as a doctor?
More like an executioner.
The live chat was also terrified of this chicken.
Is that really the size a chicken should be? It could swallow Layla in one bite.]
[Think bigger. It could swallow a dozen Laylas.]
