Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 254

Chapter 254 A Profitable Deal and Rising Tensions

Joy and eager anticipation flickered in King Kong’s large eyes.

“If it’s safe enough for you to eat, it must be harmless for us, too. I’ll save you a portion for tonight’s meal.” Layla said warmly.

Glancing back at the other hesitant participants, she tossed out a new offer.

“I’ve got another deal for anyone interested. King Kong can clear out all the bugs and small pests around your chosen campsite, too-only a sixth of your prey as payment instead of a quarter.”

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

Layla was even charging to feed King Kong?

She’d make a fortune running a business like this on the galactic market, pure and simple profiteering.

Yet none of the other participants dared approach King Kong on their own to negotiate.

What if the creature only obeyed Layla?

They’d be easy prey if it turned hostile.

Watching the first group carry their neatly cut lumber back to their campsite with satisfied grins, more participants finally gave in to temptation.

“We’ll take the deal too! Have King Kong cut lumber for us!”

“Count us in as well!”

A satisfied smile spread across Layla’s face as she watched them line up eagerly.

As long as everyone stayed motivated to survive and hunt, her own life on the alien planet would be completely secure.

Her reason for demanding a share of their prey ran deeper than mere laziness toward hunting.

This was an unknown world, with no way to tell which native creatures were edible or carried hidden toxins.

Other groups would test the safety of their catches first before sending her portion over, acting as unwitting guinea pigs to filter out any dangerous game.

Content with her plan, Layla hummed a soft tune as she watched King Kong efficiently tend to every group’s lumber request.

She turned to head back to her camp-only to walk straight into a firm, solid chest.

Rubbing her slightly aching forehead, Layla lifted her gaze to find Carson standing right in front of her.

He lowered her gaze to Layla, seeming hesitant.

A bright spark lit up her eyes instantly. “Mr. Fields, are you here to make a deal with us, too?”

This could be an incredibly profitable partnership!

Carson looked down at her sparkling, eager expression, an involuntary soft smile tugging at his lips.

He quickly composed himself, clearing his throat before nodding calmly. “I need your pet to cu lumber for our campsite.”

Layla agreed wholeheartedly without hesitation….

Carson was one of the most skilled hunters in the tournament; a quarter share of his catches would make her group’s life incredibly comfortable out here.

“Of course you can, Mr. Fields. Same terms apply for everyone.”

Relieved by her straightforward answer, Carson nodded his acceptance without complaint. “No problem.

Layla directed King Kong to cut all the lumber Carson needed, even having the creature fly the planks directly to his group’s chosen campsite.

Still seething from her earlier humiliation at Layla’s hands, Stella spotted Carson returning alongside Layla Jealousy flared up instantly, boiling over into anger.

Storming over to his side, Stella clasped her hands tightly, teary eyes fixed pleadingly on his face.

“Why were you with Layla?” She reached out to grab his arm.

Carson stepped aside subtly to avoid her touch, bending to pick up a stack of lumber instead. His tone remained cold and distant. “I went to ask her for help cutting wood.”

Stella let out a shrill exclamation of protest. “Why go to her? She’ll make us give up a quarter of all our prey!”

Carson turned to face her, his patience wearing thin. “Are you planning to help gather lumber? Or dig an underground shelter for us?”

Stella paled at the pointed question, forcing a nervous smile onto her lips.

Wrapping her arm tightly around his bicep, she batted her eyelashes sweetly. “We could just tame one of the planet’s wild creatures ourselves, just like Layla did.”

Weariness and quiet irritation welled up in Carson’s heart at her entitled attitude.

Pulling his arm free from her grasp, he confronted her directly. “And you’d be the one to tame it? How can you guarantee it won’t turn on you and attack?”

Left lost for words, Stella pouted, on the verge of bursting into tears.

The two males accompanying her stepped forward at once to defend her.
