Chapter 273 Turn Her Trap Against Her
Neither man was willing to back down an inch.
Noticing their petty standoff from the corner of her eye, Layla sighed helplessly.
The two butted heads like stubborn mules, impossible to calm down once riled up.
Handing her knife to Daisy, she stepped between them to break the tension.
“What’s going on with you two?”
Arms folded, she studied their locked glares.
Before Oliver could speak, George sidled up to Layla, looping his arm through hers in a childish display of grievance. “Oliver’s being mean to me.”
Oliver’s eyes widened in disbelief. “How can you lie so brazenly? You’ll get struck by lightning for making up stories!”
Tempers flared again, and Layla quickly clamped a hand over each of their mouths to silence the bickering.
She turned to Oliver first. “You speak first.”
Ducking close to Layla’s ear, Oliver whispered every detail of Stella’s murderous plot.
A frown creased Layla’s brow, faint disbelief in her voice. “Is she truly reckless enough to go this far?”
Oliver nodded firmly.
“The proposal to switch planets originated from the Grant family, and they’re footing the bill. With resources like that, Stella wouldn’t hesitate to pull a stunt like this.”
Layla’s expression turned grave at his confirmation. “If that’s the case, I’ll simply turn her trap against her.”
No trace of fear or worry clouded her features, surprising Oliver enough to edge closer.
“Should we expose her scheme outright?”
Layla smiled faintly.
Exposing Stella openly held no thrill.
The whole galaxy already knew of Stella’s cruel, spoiled nature, yet no one suspected she’d dare commit cold-blooded murder, let alone resort to such vicious, underhanded tactics.
A clever plan formed in Layla’s mind in an instant.
She leaned in toward Oliver, the soft scent of her perfume wrapping around him.
His heart raced wildly, words stumbling awkwardly off his tongue.
“Layla… what is it?”
“I need you to help me pull this off,” she murmured quietly into his ear.
Dazed and flustered, Oliver agreed without a second thought, “Anything. I’ll do whatever you need.”
Night settled thick over Planet M715. Three shadowy figures crept silently beneath Layla’s giant treehouse camp.
