Chapter 279 New Harmony in the Cabin
Relief washed over Layla at their unanimous acceptance of Carson.
“Help tidy up the cabin while I fix breakfast.”
Carson had left behind fresh cuts of wild game meat the night before, and Layla had long since figured out which local wild plants were safe and edible after days of exploration.
In no time at all, a hearty, steaming breakfast spread filled the small dining area, rich and aromatic enough to make anyone’s mouth water.
Carson returned soon after, carrying a simple animal hide mat and a stash of dried, preserved meat. He set everything down before Layla without hesitation.
“These are all the supplies I’ve gathered out here. I’ll hand them all over to you to manage.”
His gesture carried the quiet devotion of a husband returning home, offering every last resource he’d earned without reservation.
Layla smiled and accepted his offerings graciously.
There was no need for awkward pretense-Carson’s arrival was a blessing for their entire group.
At that moment, she realized Shane’s earlier words were true.
I’ve truly grown fond of Carson, more than I’d admitted to myself.
Seven people sat around the breakfast table, chatting casually over their meal as if the deadly drama of the previous night had never happened.
With Stella gone to stir up trouble, peace and harmony settled over the planet once more.
Even rival contestant groups began helping one another willingly.
Glancing around at the five males beside her, Layla felt a quiet sense of contentment.
The mates meant for the original host of her body were now all gathered safely around her.
Stella’s departure had completely shifted the atmosphere of Planet M715’s survival competition.
Mutual aid and camaraderie prevailed, making daily life comfortable and fulfilling for everyone.
Carson’s arrival elevated their quality of life to a whole new level.
A steady routine fell into place each day. After Layla prepared breakfast each morning, Carson and Liam headed out to hunt game.
Oliver and George stayed behind to tidy the cabin, helping Shane with crafting and repairs wherever they could.
Layla always tried to pitch in with chores, only to be firmly stopped by the three of them speaking in
unison.

Chapter 279 New Harmony in the Cabin
“Just rest and relax. Cooking is hard enough work already.”
Layla smiled helplessly to herself.
How tiring can simple cooking really be?
George spoke up with a perfectly serious expression, “You must never overexert yourself. If you wear yourself out, your cooking won’t taste half as good-and we’d never forgive ourselves for that loss.”
Layla pinched the tip of his nose playfully. “I think you just love eating my cooking too much to let mere out.”
George wriggled free from her grasp, putting on an aggrieved, pitiful pout. “What’s wrong with enjoying meals made by my own Lady Lord?”
Amused by his childish act, Layla relented with a smile. “Fine. I’ll make your favorite pan-seared small river fish for lunch today.”
George cheered loudly, throwing his arms around Layla and bouncing excitedly in place. “You are the best
Watching their interaction, Oliver stroked his chin thoughtfully.
Days of quiet observation had taught him one clear truth: Layla always gave in easily to George, who was good at playful, clingy acts.
A cunning glint flickered in Oliver’s eyes.
Royal upbringing had taught him well-yielding softness won favor far better than arrogance with a beloved lady.
He needed to show Layla his vulnerable side, for he could tell she had a soft spot for such acts.
While George distracted Shane by helping calculate armor density formulas, Oliver slipped over to Layla’s
side.
Layla regarded him with gentle but distant curiosity. “Is there something you need?”
Oliver held out his arm, revealing the burn scar left from the pterosaur’s fire the night before, his expression soft and pitiful.
“My wound still aches constantly. Could you take a look and tend to it for me?”
Oliver naturally possessed a striking, noble, chiseled face.
Pairing those cold, regal features with a vulnerable look made Layla’s heart flutter slightly.
She said nothing, simply lifting his sleeve gently to examine the injury.
The severe burn mark made her eyes widen with surprise.
