Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 280

Chapter 280 Petty Rivalries

Bending her head again, Layla smoothed the ointment carefully over every inch of the burn wound

Oliver’s gaze fixed on the faint blush tinting the tip of her ear, a quiet smirk playing on his lips.

Admit it-you’re already falling for me, too.

George looked up mid-calculation to show Layla his results, only to spot their heads nearly touching in close proximity.

A surge of jealous anger flared instantly. He rushed over and planted himself firmly between them, separating their faces with an abrupt hand.

Glaring at Layla with the indignant fury of someone catching a loved one being unfaithful, he demanded sharply, “What exactly are the two of you doing?”

Layla averted her gaze awkwardly, caught red-handed.

Oliver instantly shifted back to his usual cold, aloof demeanor toward anyone else.

“I sustained a burn protecting Layla during the fire last night. She’s merely dressing my wound-is there any issue with that?” he asked.

George jutted his chin out stubbornly. “I could dress your wound just fine, too.”

A mocking smile tugged at Oliver’s mouth. “If you tried, you’d probably rip the entire scarred skin right off.”

Furious at the insult, George rolled up his sleeves, ready to brawl.

Layla stepped in at once to halt the fight.

“If you two can’t behave yourselves and stop bickering, both of you will sleep outside the cabin tonight.”

Oliver and George froze simultaneously, both turning their heads away in a huff.

Two equally flawless, handsome faces wore identical pitiful, wronged expressions. They all stared up at her like bullied little creatures.

Layla’s heart began to race suddenly, her breath catching in her throat. It felt like no matter what she said, it was the wrong thing.

Scratching the back of her head in defeat, she finally sighed, “Alright, go do your own thing. Just-no fighting.”

Seeing Layla compromise, Oliver lowered his head, a smile curving his lips.

The fact that Layla hadn’t scolded him for George’s outburst was a promising start.

It proved he carried weight in her heart.

In high spirits, Oliver shot George a provocative glare before heading off to organize his gear nearby.

George was absolutely livid.

He let out a heavy, indignant huff and stomped back over to Shane, unable to hold back his complaint

“Look at that! That Oliver is so seductive. He’s only been here a few days, and he’s already got Layla wrapped around his finger.”

Shane’s pen paused mid-calculation. Then, he resumed writing, his voice calm.

“That’s because that’s exactly the kind of thing Layla falls for.”

That was how I managed to stay by her side in the beginning, too.

Of course, there was an essential difference between him and Oliver.

His nature was genuine; Oliver was putting on an act.

But the end result was the same.

Consequently, Shane saw no issue with Oliver using a few tricks to win Layla’s heart.

George’s eyes widened in shock at hearing this. “You can’t do this! We’re supposed to be on the same side!”

Shane looked up and pressed a finger against George’s lips to silence him.

“Maybe you should go keep an eye on exactly what those two are up to.”

Shane was in the middle of a crucial calculation, and George’s constant chirping beside him was giving him a headache. It was too distracting.

George’s eyes lit up instantly. “You’re so smart! I’m on it.”

With that, he trotted off, looking immensely pleased with himself.

Watching George’s retreating back, Shane shook his head with a helpless smile.

Still, having this rowdy bunch around was nice. It was certainly better than freezing away alone in a lab like before.

By the time Layla finished cooking, Carson and Liam had returned.

This time, they brought back a giant rabbit and two eggs-enough food to last them quite a while.

Layla directed Liam and Carson to portion the meat while she moved the eggs to a cool corner with George’s help.

Looking at the cabin, which now felt lived-in and full of life, Layla smiled in satisfaction.

Sadly, however, the month was drawing to a close.

They needed to return to Planet A13.

Happy days always seemed to fly by.
