But now, standing before the falls, Carson caught it clearly.

Layla’s eyes traced the rushing water, and she sighed inwardly.

Turning, she found Carson in his beast form-a massive silver wolf with gentle eyes.

Carson nudged her palm with his head, his gaze unwavering. “Trust me.”

Stepping back, Layla watched as he scraped the ground with his claws and backed up for a running start. Then he leaped straight into the waterfall, vanishing behind the curtain of water.

Her hands clenched into fists, eyes fixed anxiously on the cascade.

Viewers watching the livestream shared her tension, flooding the chat with concern.

[That waterfall looks way too strong. Mr. Fields might not make it through.]

Back at Fiona’s desk, Layla presented the box.

Fiona’s expression turned complicated. “Now it’s your turn to hide something.”

Layla glanced at Stella and her two male partners.

Considering their strengths, she already knew where to stash the next item.

Shifting into her beast form, she snatched the box in her beak and took flight.

Stella watched her depart, a faint smile forming.

As if she’s the only one who can fly.

She assumed Layla would hide it somewhere high-a challenge Stella felt ready for.

About ten minutes later, Layla returned, shifting back upon landing.

With a cheerful smile, she told Stella, “All set. Go find it.”

Stella immediately grabbed Julian and sprinted in the direction Layla had come from.

George leaned close to Layla, whispering, “Where’d you hide it?”

Layla grinned. “Don’t worry. It’ll take them a while to get it.”

She was right. Stella and Julian soon lòcated the hiding spot-but retrieving it was another matter.

Layla had placed the box inside a hyena den.

How she’d managed it was a mystery, but getting it back required either entering the den or luring the hyenas away.

But the pack was alert and defensive; sending one person as a decoy would leave some of the hyenas guarding the nest.

Stella’s eyes darkened as she mentally cursed Layla.

That bitch came up with a vicious trick!

Beside her, Julian spoke coolly, “I’ll shift and draw them out. You grab the box fast and fly straight back.”
