Layla’s lips curved up as she watched the dark, heavy clouds outside. “A storm is coming,” she murmured.

She turned back around, her expression growing serious, and said, “Dealing with Stella is secondary. We need to handle the Starcore Ore mine first.”

Shane nodded and said, “Planet A13 doesn’t get much rain. We need to make the most of this window.”

George raised his hand and asked, “What can the rest of us do?”

Layla’s smile turned sly. “Before, the plan was just for you to stall the Thunder Pterosaur. Now, I need you to lead it straight to Stella-exactly what Stella did when she lured the Quetzalcoatlus toward us last time.”

They all exchanged excited looks.

Layla had been putting up with Stella and her crew’s crap for way too long. This time they were finally hitting back. They couldn’t wait to see Stella’s face.

Layla’s gaze landed on Carson. She blinked and asked, “What do you think?”

Carson paused, then asked, “Why ask me?”

Layla rubbed her chin, amused. “Well, you’re on good terms with the Grant family, right?”

Carson considered it, his face serious. “We do a lot of business together, but I’m not close with them,” he said.

He was making it clear she didn’t need to hold back on his account. He’d go along with whatever she decided.

Layla smiled, and two shallow dimples appeared.

Watching that bright smile, Carson felt his heart skip a beat. He bit his lip.

Layla turned and gestured for Shane to pull out that big blackboard he’d made. She grabbed some ink and started sketching out a plan.

Then she said, “Our ultimate goal is seizing the Starcore Ore mine and returning the wormhole to the Wormhole Queen. Liam and Carson are our strongest fighters, so you two will draw the Thunder Pterosau away. George, your abilities are water-based, so back them up. Shane, Oliver, and I will head/straight for the Starcore Ore mine.”

Her plan made perfect sense. Water abilities could summon currents to deflect the Thunder Pterosaur’s lightning. While it built up a charge, Liam and Carson struck.

Luckily, there was only one Thunder Pterosaur here, or this would have been a real headache.

While they were handling the beast, she and Shane’s team would sneak into the Starcore Ore mine, strip out everything that belonged to the Thunder Pterosaur, and move it to other caves.

After all, the Thunder Pterosaur was just peacefully nesting in the mine and hadn’t really done anything terrible.
