The spirit serpent beastkin let out a cold laugh. “Our people will be on Planet A13 soon. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll surrender now. Otherwise, you won’t even see it coming.”

Layla’s eyes flickered.

So they really are coming to Planet A13.

“You do know the production team set up a defense system, right? Even a Quetzalcoatlus couldn’t break through it easily. What makes you think you can?” Layla threw the question at him on purpose, wanting to see how he’d react.

He just snorted again, his face full of contempt. “If you don’t believe me, then wait and see. Our boss will be here within a day,” he said with absolute certainty. “After all, you took her mate.”

Layla’s eyebrow lifted.

In an instant, they both shifted. A pale purple serpent and a massive, hideous toad took shape in front of Layla and Oliver.

Layla stepped back and warned Oliver under her breath, “Both of them are venomous. Be careful.”

Oliver looked at the two beasts like they were nothing. He’d finally get a chance to show off in front of Layla.

He shifted without hesitation, taking to the sky in his crane form and diving straight at the serpent and the toad.

Layla slipped to the side and watched quietly. In her mind, there was no way Oliver could lose to these two.

But something started to feel off. The serpent was fast and agile, and the toad’s leathery skin. was tough. Oliver’s attacks didn’t seem to be doing any real damage.
