Chapter 434 Don’t Get Yourselves Upset Over This
truth came fully out, and the live-chat section filled with fresh mockery aimed at Stella.
[She put on such a convincing act just now. I almost bought her lies.]
[I never trusted her for a second. She would never let herself get framed-she’s always the one plotting against others.]
Stella shook her head and stared at Julian in utter disbelief, raw hatred burning across her features. “How dare you betray me!”
Layla clapped her hands at once. “Everyone heard that. She just confirmed Julian’s story. She ordered him to get poison to hurt me.”
Stella realized her mistake a split second too late. She clapped a hand over her mouth, deep regret flashing in her eyes.
I should never have said that out loud.
There is no taking those words back.
Despair washed over Stella, and she squeezed her eyes shut.
She snapped them open again, her voice breaking with fake sobs. “I need to call my mother.”
George shot back with sharp scorn, “You’re a grown adult. You run to mommy the second trouble hits. Are you some spoiled man-child?”
George’s tongue was famously cutting. His words made Stella’s complexion grow even more grim.
Her face alternated between pale and red, and finally, she just rolled her eyes and pretended to faint.
The original story had mentioned Stella loved this cheap trick, and she was still relying on it now.
Layla let out a cold huff. “Oh, did the shock knock her out? Good thing the medical team is right here. Scarlett, have them wake her up.”
Scarlett had no interest in ending the spectacle early. She gestured for the medical staff to step forward.
They pressed hard into several pressure points on Stella’s body.
Stella could not stand the sharp pain. She convulsed and opened her eyes again.
She locked gazes with Layla’s knowing, half-smiling stare./
Layla stood with her arms folded, watching Stella’s evasive eyes, and spoke in a light, taunting tone. “Looks like our show’s doctors know what they’re doing. You woke up awfully fast.”
The mockery in her tone made Stella’s eyes blaze with rage.
She gritted her teeth and glared straight at Layla. “You must have bribed and manipulated Julian to turn against me.”

Layla shrugged and said nothing. Shane stepped forward from behind her instead.
He reached out and grabbed Stella’s hand. The cold touch of his skin made Stella try to yank her hand away.
But Shane held her firmly, his strength surprisingly powerful, his expression deadly serious.
Stella could not break free. She filled her eyes with tears and played the victim. “Shane, you’re helping Layla
hurt me.”
Shane ignored her plea completely.
He kept hold of her hand and turned toward Vanguard’s live cameras. “After Julian came to us, I gave him a compound I had developed ahead of time. That poison leaves a residue on skin that cannot be washed away. We can show everyone right now whether Stella’s hands carry that poison trace.”
He pulled out a flashlight that cast violet-purple light and shone it over Stella’s hand.
Sure enough, bright blue glowing marks showed up across her fingertips and the webbing of her palms.
The live chat exploded.
[I used to think she couldn’t possibly be this cruel. I was so naive to give her the benefit of the doubt.]
[She deserves to go to prison.]
[The evidence is rock-solid this time. Will Stella find another way to escape punishment?]
[Who knows? Her mom runs the Grant Group. She will definitely pull strings to save her daughter.]
[I’ll never get it. Her biological daughter is brilliant, yet she protects this worthless adopted fraud.]
[You don’t get it. If she accepts Layla and rejects Stella, she’s basically admitting she failed as a parent.]
A faint smile tugged at Layla’s lips as she scanned those comments,
No matter the timeline or level of technology, many parents behayed exactly like this.
They would rather pretend everything was fine than admit their own parenting was flawed.
But Layla was not the original young woman from this world.,
She felt no curiosity about why Ciara rejected her own blood daughter.
Layla faced Vanguard’s cameras and addressed the online audience. “I stopped needing family affection to sustain me a long time ago. Don’t get yourselves upset over this-it is not worth your energy.”
Viewers flooded the chat praising Layla for her composure and broad-mindedness.
Layla turned her gaze back toward deathly-pale Stella. “If you walk free from this again, it will prove one thing-the Grant family has been using illegal methods to shield you. Guess who Ciara will choose to protect: you, or the entire Grant Group?”
Those words drained every last bit of fight out of Stella.

She had lived alongside Ciara for decades.
So he knew full well that nothing mattered more to Ciara than profit.
Flushed 1.
Ciara had protected her so far only because Stella’s misdeeds had never truly threatened the Grant Group’s interests.
But just as Layla said, if Ciara kept shielding her after everything that had happened, the public would never forgive them.
Carson stepped forward. “Our group makes this official statement: we will enter into zero future partnerships with the Grant Group.”
Carson’s announcement sent shockwaves rippling across the internet.
Back inside her office, Ciara stared at her screen, her jaw tight with fury.
