Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show
Chapter 456 No Point Saying That
Hformed a black-energy orb in one hand and hurled it straight for Layla’s vital spot.
Layla drew her bow all the way back and loosed an energy arrow. The arrow slammed against the black orb. and a massive shockwave exploded outward.
Rock formations all around shattered, sending sharp stone fragments flying everywhere.
Liam took the opening, rushed forward, and drove his laser sword toward Edgar’s back.
Edgar let out a sharp huff. He spun and kicked Liam hard in the chest.
His speed and raw power did not match that of an old man at all.
t
Liam fought to keep his balance and tried to dodge. He could not get completely out of the way, and the
blow landed on his chest.
He stumbled backward, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, yet resolve burned in his eyes.
As a galactic admiral, he would not go down so easily.
He raised his laser blade and charged Edgar once more.
Oliver unleashed powerful Starcore Essence energy right beside them. Streaks of golden light shot toward Edgar to throw off his movements.
Distracted by the Starcore Essence, Edgar had to split his focus to fend off the attack. His moves grew noticeably slower.
Layla saw her chance. She pulled her bow fully taut again and fired an arrow straight at Edgar’s chest.
Edgar’s eyes sharpened. He twisted his torso to avoid the hit. The energy arrow grazed his shoulder and tore open a deep gash.
Rage fully took hold of Edgar. Black energy swirled thicker around his body. He flicked both hands, and countless thin black energy threads shot toward Layla and the others.
Layla grabbed Liam and Oliver and pulled them out of harm’s way. The energy threads hit the ground and hissed loudly on impact.
Deep corrosive cracks spread across the stone floor where the threads touched.
Liam gasped for breath, speaking in short, urgent bursts. “We cannot keep this up. We are no match for him. His power is far too strong. We need to get word to the rest of our group.”
Layla nodded and scanned the cave quickly. She spotted dozens of loose rocks hanging from the mine ceiling above them.
A plan clicked in her mind. She shot a quick look over at Liam and Oliver.
Both of them understood exactly, what she intended.

Layla would draw Edgar’s full attention. Liam would use his laser sword to cut loose the unstable ceiling boulders.
Oler would keep hitting Edgar with Starcore Essence-based mental interference to slow his reactions even further.
Layla drew her bow and fired shot after shot at Edgar, deliberately goading him.
Her tactic worked. Furious, Edgar stared at her with bloodshot eyes and advanced step-by-step.
The energy orb in his hands grew larger, and the energy threads swirling behind him multiplied.
Right as Edgar prepared to release the black orb, Oliver poured out a huge surge of Starcore Essence
energy.
Golden energy wrapped around Edgar. His body locked up, and crippling pain shot through his head.
Channeling that much Starcore Essence took a heavy toll on Oliver.
His already pale complexion turned even whiter. Still, he forced himself to hold the effect and gave Liam a sharp signal.
Liam leaped high, nearly reaching the mine’s ceiling.
He channeled his own power into his laser sword and swung it with every ounce of his strength. A wide beam sliced upward, shearing loose all the overhead rock.
A deafening crash echoed through the cavern. Ceiling boulders crashed down straight onto Edgar.
Edgar’s face went white with shock. He tried to escape, yet the Starcore Essence effect still held him fast. He could not move an inch.
He could only watch helplessly as tons of rock came crashing down on top of him.
Thick dust billowed through the mine, throwing everything into chaos. Ciara and her assassins failed to get clear and got completely buried under the rubble.
Slowly the dust settled. Edgar lay trapped beneath piles of stone, covered in blood, barely clinging to consciousness.
Even so, his gaze stayed ice-cold as he fixed it on Layla. “Layla, mark my words. The royal family will not let this slide. Every single one of you will pay for what happened here today.”
Layla stepped forward and looked down at him, her own eyes cold and unyielding. “There is no point saying that now. Surrender.”
