Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 464

Chapter 464 Not the Right Time

Yvette Pullen from the competing team stood at their door.

Layla remembered that her beast form was a striped hyena.

A perfect chance had just fallen right into her lap.

Layla put on a warm, friendly smile. “Yvette, right? What can we do for you?”

Yvette shifted nervously on her feet. “Is Prof. Slater here?”

She had come looking for Shane.

Layla blinked, then turned and called over her shoulder, “Shane, someone is here to see you.”

Shane lifted his head, confused. He stood up and walked over to Yvette.

His gaze darkened, and he pressed his lips tightly together-he looked hard to approach.

Yvette swallowed, overcome with nerves, and stumbled over her words, “Prof. Slater, do you have any medicine? One of my mates has had a high fever since last night. The medication we got from the show crew has not helped him at all.”

Shane’s eyebrows drew together almost imperceptibly after hearing her request.

Yvette thought he was going to turn her down.

Just as she opened her mouth to speak again, Shane pulled out a vial of serum and a disposable syringe. “Give him one injection with this.”

Yvette’s face lit up. She took the serum and thanked him over and over, her voice thick with emotion. “If there is ever anything I can do to pay you back, just send for me.”

Layla had been waiting for exactly those words.

She stroked her chin and spoke in a soft, calm tone, “Funny you should say that. I actually have a favor to ask of you right now.”

Confusion flickered across Yvette’s face as she stared at Layla.

Layla was already incredibly capable, and Yvette could not imagine what help she herself could offer.

Layla flashed her a mysterious grin. “Go take care of your mate first. Come back and find me once he is feeling better.”

Yvette nodded quickly and hurried away with the serum.

George wandered over to Layla, scratching the top of his head out of curiosity. “What favor are you planning to ask her for?”

Layla folded her arms across her chest and kept him guessing. “That is a secret.”

His curiosity grew even stronger. He blinked, about to beg her for an answer. Layla turned away instead. She picked up a pen and drew on the wooden board.

He leaned over to watch her work. “What are you sketching, Layla?”

“Once we build this, our crop output will go up quite a bit,” Layla said while she kept drawing.

George’s eyes widened with pure admiration. “No one but you could come up with something like this. I’ve certainly never seen anything like it.”

Layla smiled softly and made up a simple excuse.

She could not tell them that this knowledge came from her past-life experiences living through an apocalypse.

“I picked up these skills when I lived with my foster parents. I helped them out with lots of farm work back then.”

Layla spoke casually, yet every one of the males standing nearby felt a sharp twinge of sympathy for her.

They gazed at her, their lips pressed tight and their eyes full of tender concern.

Liam said, “We will take care of all that hard work from now on, Layla. You will never have to suffer like that again.”

He stepped in front of her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her gently against his chest.

George’s jaw dropped as he watched Liam. “That’s so sneaky of you! You took advantage of the moment to get close to her.”

A mischievous smile tugged at Liam’s mouth. “You are just slower than me. You were standing much closer to Layla than I was.”

George gritted his teeth in frustration. “Right now, I dislike you even more than that jerk Oliver.”

Oliver shot George a cold, sharp glance. “It seems you are itching for a fight.”

George looked over at Layla with a hurt, sulky expression. Layla patted Liam’s shoulder, then pulled away and sat down in a chair.

She stated, “We still need to keep competing on this dating show. We have to give it our all and win full ownership of Planet A13. Once the planet officially belongs to us, Ciara cannot pull any dirty tricks against us. We will be free to do whatever we want, including putting up defense systems, and no one will have the right to interfere.”

Everyone froze for a second after hearing her plan, then gave her a thumbs-up.
