Chapter 465 Almost Threw Up

Layla stood up and gestured for her two guests to take a seat. She poured them cups of her homemade herb-blossom brew, then smiled warmly, “Yvette, your beast form is a striped hyena, isn’t it?”
Yvette gave a soft nod. “That’s right.”
Layla smiled, “I need you to do me one favor. Go speak with the local hyena pack.”
Yvette stared at Layla in shock. “Is that all? That job sounds far too easy.”
Layla shook her head gently. “This task is not as simple as it looks. You just have a natural advantage because of your species.”
Yvette felt much less nervous after hearing those words. “When should we head out?”
Layla clapped her hands together. “There is no time to waste. We leave right now.”
She had already mapped out her long-term business plans in her mind, and she could hardly wait to put them into action.
Yvette followed Layla and the rest of the group without hesitation until they reached the hyena pack’s territory.
Thanks to their friendly meeting from an earlier day, the hyenas showed very little hostility toward the newcomers.
The pack leader ambled over and sniffed Layla with its nose as a sign of goodwill.
Layla crouched down and turned toward Yvette. “Tell the leader I need its pack to guard a stretch of land. If they agree, we will help them hunt large prey whenever they need it in the future.”
Yvette passed Layla’s message on to the hyena leader word-for-word.
The leader’s eyes lit up noticeably. It rubbed its head against Layla, making it clear that it accepted the deal.
Layla broke into a wide grin. “Perfect. Come with me right now.”
She thanked Yvette, then set off with hyenas at her side.
When they reached the wild field near the Starcore Essence mine, the Carapax Beetles had almost finished turning over all the soil.

The males were amazed by how fast the work had gone, and each one gave Layla a thumbs-up.
“Layla, you’re brilliant. I never would have thought to ask those beetles for help.”
Layla let out a quiet hum, folded her arms across her chest, and wore a proud look. “That is what you call using your wits.”
Everyone laughed. Layla waved her hands to mark off the exact boundary and explained the rules to the hyena leader. “Stay and watch over this land. No outsiders-human or animal-are allowed inside, except for our group.”
The hyena leader nodded and let out a short howl to show it understood.
Their problem had been solved.
The next step was gathering seeds.
Layla walked over to Liam, George, and Oliver, whose injuries were not severe. “Over the next two days, collect all the plant seeds and young sprouts I brought back before. I have an important use for them.”
The three nodded right away. “Sure, we will do whatever you say.”
Every task had now been assigned, and Layla was ready to get to work.
Clearing new farmland was something she had mastered long ago, back during the apocalypse.
She could already picture this empty stretch of land on Planet A13 turning into a thriving, lush farm before very long.
The Carapax Beetles finished breaking up all the wild soil in no time.
Layla ran her fingers through the loose dirt and took a deep breath. The ground was still not rich enough in nutrients.
She brushed dust off her palms, then turned and smiled at the five males standing behind her. “There is one more job for all of you, though I suspect you’re not going to like it.”
Liam, who stood closest to her, looked on with curiosity. “What kind of job?”
A mysterious smile crossed Layla’s face. “You need to head out and find fertilizer somewhere else on the land.”
Gathering fertilizer on this planet meant collecting animal droppings.
All five males froze on the spot.

None of them had ever done work like this, not with their status.
George swallowed hard. “Layla, is this the only thing we can use for fertilizer?”
