Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show
Chapter 466 Something Is Parasitizing It
[Still, this isn’t so bad. It’ll teach them how hard real-world life can be.]
[Wait a second. I was watching a dating show-how did we switch over to an agriculture channel? Still, it’s pretty fun to watch.]

[I think Layla put George and Oliver together on purpose. With Oliver nearby, George’s competitive streak is definitely fired up. He acts like he could not care less, but look how much faster he started working once he saw how much Oliver had picked.]
[I could watch this every single day and never get bored.]
Layla held a notebook and jotted down notes near the empty field. She had roughly mapped out which crops would go in each section of land.
She was about to take a break when she felt someone’s gaze fixed on her.
Layla frowned and turned her eyes toward one direction. A huge, dark shadow waited in the shadows over there.
Her gut told her that it was that bear.
She slipped her notebook away without making a sound and stared sharply into the darkness.
For a long while, the bear did not move at all. Layla thought it over and decided to walk over and check things out herself.
The second Layla took a step forward, the black bear let out a loud roar and charged straight at her.
Layla jumped in surprise. This bear was enormous-the mutated black bears she had encountered during the apocalypse were a third smaller than this one.
She quickly darted out of its path. The bear crashed into the ground and smashed a deep crater into the dirt.
Layla glanced coldly at the hole, then took a deep breath.
She faced the bear, raised one hand, and bent her body slightly forward. “I do not want to hurt you,” she said calmly. “If you leave this area, we can get along peacefully.”
The bear grew wildly agitated and rushed toward Layla once again.
Layla dodged out of the way, shifted into her beast form, and soared up into the sky.

She kept her eyes locked on the bear. Thick drool hung from its jaws, and its eyes burned bright red.
Something is very wrong. No normal animal would act like this. Could some sort of contagious illness have infected it?
Layla’s frown deepened. While she was lost in thought, the bear pushed off with its hind legs and leaped high into the air.
She barely snapped out of her thoughts and climbed higher-or the bear would have struck her.
Layla watched the heavy beast crash back onto the ground. It showed no signs of pain and tensed its muscles, ready to attack once more.
The whole situation grew stranger by the second. She circled overhead, her eyes narrowed. She watched for her opening-the split-second when the bear lunged at her and slammed straight into a tree. Without hesitation, she loosed a blade straight toward the back of its neck.
The bear roared and collapsed, knocked unconscious.
Layla circled above it several times to make sure it was fully out, then shifted back into her human form and landed on the ground.
A foul, rotting stench hit her the second she stepped near the bear.
The smell was not the natural musk of a wild animal. It smelled like decaying matter.
Layla moved carefully forward and lifted one of the bear’s eyelids. Its eye was completely bloodshot.
A sharp sense of alarm washed over her. She narrowed her eyes. The bear was almost certainly sick.
Shane and Liam, who were the closest to her, got an alert on Vanguard warning them about the bear attack and hurried over right away.
By the time they arrived, Layla had already subdued the black bear.
She lifted her head, smiled at the panicked-looking Shane and Liam, then waved Shane over gently. “Come take a look and see if you can find out what is wrong with this bear.”
Shane crouched down and examined the creature closely. His voice turned serious. “I think this bear is not sick from an infection… No, it looks like something is parasitizing it.”
Layla lifted her eyebrows and squinted at him. “Parasitized?”
