Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 86

Chapter 86 The Rulebook Trap

Layla had never even been to university. She’d never had any of that highsociety training.

She couldn’t paint. She didn’t know the ceremony. She couldn’t appreciate fine art. She didn’t understand classical music.

Stella had watched Layla closely ever since she came back to the Grant family.

Crude. Uncouth. Obsessed with money. Doing the kind of menial work that servants should be doing.

She’d actually wanted to help the staff carry plates. How ridiculous.

After spending some time with her, Shane would surely realize just how unfit Layla was to be seen in polite society.

In the end, he would come back to her.

And by then, even if the Slater family still cared about bloodlines, Shane would stand firmly by her side.

But what she’d never expected was that Shane would actually fall for Layla during their time together.

That he could accept even the fact that Layla didn’t like him, and still refused to leave her cabin.

Just thinking about it made Stella’s teeth clench with fury.

“Don’t say things you don’t mean. If you really don’t like Prof. Slater, you should make him leave your

cabin.”

“Why should I?”

[Why? How about because of the show’s rules? Stella doesn’t like Prof. Slater but won’t kick him out-she’s just stringing him along.]

[Keeping her options open. If someone better comes along, she’ll dump him. If not, she’ll hang onto him for now. Take away Prof. Slater, and what male is going to support her?]

[Modern medicine really is amazing. Keeps all sorts of creatures alive. Can’t anyone see that even without Prof. Slater, Layla would be just fine?]

[Honestly, without Layla, Prof. Slater might not make it.]

“Because of the show’s rules. We’re here to compete. We have to follow the rules.”

“Is that right? I wasn’t paying attention. What rules? Remind me.” Layla feigned ignorance, smiling at Stella. She graciously pointed into the yard. “Want to sit down and talk?”

“All right.” Stella followed Layla into the yard.

[Seriously, Layla? You’ve been here this long and you still don’t know the rules?]

[Something feels off about this.]

Chapter 86 The Rulebook Trap

[I get that feeling too. I think Layla’s setting Stella up somehow.]

[Nah. Layla’s the type to punch first and ask questions later. She doesn’t do scheming. I don’t buy it.j

[You guys aren’t too bright, are you? Just watch and find out.]

Layla pointed at a stool by the table. “Have a seat.”

Stella sat where Layla indicated, watching her every move. She couldn’t believe how stupid Layla was.

She’d come here to mock Layla, to cause trouble for her. And Layla was inviting her to sit down.

If she were in Layla’s position, she’d be doing everything she could to chase the other person away-no welcoming them into her home.

But Layla had invited her in, and Stella felt nothing but smug satisfaction.

“Layla, do you really not know the rules?”

“I’ve just been focused on one thing-getting through the year so this planet is mine. Haven’t paid attention to much else.”

[Honest, at least.]

[No wonder. She signed that one-year contract from the start, insisting on surviving the whole year. She really did come for the planet.]

[So the whole thing about her trying to win back those five males? That was fake from the beginning. She came for the money.]

[You’re just figuring this out now? I’ve always thought Layla doesn’t treat money as worthless. The way she looks at Prof. Slater isn’t even half as excited as the way she looks at a kill. Anyone who says she was obsessing over those five males-I just can’t buy it.]

Layla’s words were half true, half false. But Stella couldn’t tell which was which.

And because the original owner had often made a fool of herself in front of Stella, Stella instinctively assumed Layla was telling the truth.

After all, the original owner’s antics had been infuriating-but also painfully stupid.

“You know the rules, don’t you? Tell me about them.” Layla poured Stella a glass of water as she spoke.

Stella took the glass, set it down without drinking.
