Chapter 87 Cake and Reputation
Stella’s morals are so solid. Unlike some people, shamelessly clinging to someone else’s mate.]
[Are you Stella fans for real? Prof. Slater confessed to Layla himself. What does that have to do with Layla?]
[If Layla hadn’t been throwing herself at him, why would Prof. Slater ever confess to her? A male like him has seen every kind of female. There’s no way he’d actually fall for someone like Layla.]
“But if he insists on staying,” Layla said, “I can’t exactly throw him out, can I?”
Hearing this, Stella felt she had a handle on the situation.
“You don’t need to worry about that. Prof. Slater is a very reasonable person. As long as you talk to him properly, he won’t put you in an awkward position.”
“You’re right about that. Prof. Slater is very reasonable. Not like someone-always making a fuss over nothing.”
Stella paused, instinctively glancing at Layla. She wanted to ask who exactly Layla was talking about.
But asking would make it sound like she thought it was about her.
She thought better of it and just nodded in agreement.
Layla suddenly looked up and asked, “So, by that logic, the reason you have Carson, Oliver, Liam, and George staying in your cabin is that you want to keep dating them?”
[Oh my god. I finally get it.]
[All that circling around-this is what she was leading up to.]
[Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I never thought I’d live to see such a masterpiece. I can die happy now.]
[Who was it that said Layla only knows how to throw punches and can’t think? Look at me, you bastard!]
[Wow, she is seriously calculating. That’s just scary. What guy in his right mind would ever marry someone like that?]
[Too sneaky for my taste. I wouldn’t take her if you paid me. Give me someone sweet and innocent like Stella any day.]
[Did you just say Stella is sweet and innocent? Did you mainline stupid juice this morning? With that kind of judgment, don’t ever leave the house. Someone’s gonna sell you for parts.]
[I’m no fan of Layla, but I’ve gotta hand it to her-that was a thing of beauty.]
[I’m long done with Stella. She’s so fake. Always playing the innocent saint, like she’s the only decent one around. If she were truly good, she would’ve returned everything to Layla right away.]
[Exactly. All this drama on the show is just her fishing for praise for her fake kindness. Everyone sees right through her. She tried to take a jab at Layla, but only shot herself in the foot.]

Chapter 87 Cake and Reputation
Stella hadn’t expected Layla to suddenly ask that. The gentle smile on her face vanished instantly.
“That’s not what I meant.” Stella waved her hands in a panic. “You’ve misunderstood me.”
“Have I?” Layla tilted her head, playing innocent. “But didn’t you just say a cabin should only let in males. you want to keep dating? So if you let those four stay in yours, doesn’t that mean you want to keep dating them?”
Layla didn’t give Stella a chance to explain. She slapped her forehead. “Oh, I get it now!”
Stella’s heart skipped a beat. “Layla, you really have misunderstood.”
Layla held up a hand. “No need to explain. I know whether it’s a misunderstanding or not
[So do I.]
[Me too.]
“Layla, you’ve really got it wrong. I never meant-”
“You didn’t mean it? So you’re saying those males are just being difficult and forcing their way into your cabin?”
“No… that’s not…” Stella was completely flustered now.
She couldn’t afford to offend any of them.
Carson was her boss.
Oliver was the Empire’s prince. Liam was an imperial general. Those two represented the highest levels of the Empire.
Even George had more fans than she did, and his fans were famously protective.
The Grant family was a toptier family, sure-but next to Carson, next to the Empire, they were a step down.
The only one without serious backing was George, and even he had more fans than she did. And his fans had vicious mouths. Unless she had no other choice, she really didn’t want to cross George or his fans.
Besides, George wasn’t even in her cabin anymore. She couldn’t pin that on him even if she wanted to.
“I really do want to give them all back to you, Layla.”
