Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 90

Chapter 90 A Living Man

“In my eyes, she’s better than any female I’ve ever met.”

Shane stood before Layla, every word firm and unshakable.

Layla gazed at him, stunned.

She’d thought the “like” he’d spoken of before was just a flicker of interest-a small crush.

She’d never imagined it was something like this.

“The way I like you-I want to be with you. To be your mate. To be together forever. Not just for this show, but every day after. For the rest of our lives. I want to walk that road with you.

“My whole life up until now has been nothing but mech design and teaching. I don’t know how to be romantic. But if you’re willing, I want you to be as important to me as mech design and teaching-no, even more important.”

Shane finished, then scratched his head. “I’m not good with words. But you get what I’m trying to say, right?

[Ahhhhh! Not good with words? That was smooth!]

[Leave it to a top-tier mech designer to be this romantic. I’m literally banging my head against the wall over here.]

[My mom just walked in and asked why I’m kneeling on the floor watching this.]

[Prof. Slater! I said yes!]

[Your yes doesn’t mean squat.]

[What I meant was-I want Layla and Shane to end up together.]

[That’s even more useless. Even Prof. Slater’s yes wouldn’t make a difference.]

[The only one who matters is Layla.]

Layla looked at the man in front of her.

Her understanding of Shane had long since outgrown the few sentences she’d read about him in a novel.

This male was honest and sincere. Bright and eager to learn. Attentive and genuine. And unbreakable.

On top of all that—broad shoulders, lean waist, long legs. He looked strong. And he was handsome.

Falling for him would be easy.

But he was Stella’s mate.

Getting tangled up with one of Stella’s mates? That would be the end of her.

Look at how the original owner had ended up-miserable and destroyed.

“I already said no.”

“I know. But I figured my last confession wasn’t up to par. You were right to turn me down.”

Layla couldn’t help but laugh. Was this guy’s brain even wired right?

Did she turn him down just because his confession wasn’t grand enough?

“And this one meets your standards?” Layla arched an eyebrow.

Shane’s pale green vertical pupils slowly faded back to normal. “So this time… are you still saying no?”

Layla gave a low chuckle. “So what you’re telling me is—if I say no again, it means this one doesn’t cut it either?”

“No.” Shane shook his head. “I mean it.”

“Hmm?” Layla paused for a moment before it clicked. Of course. That was so like him.

If he’d been the type to brush off rejection by claiming he was just joking, he wouldn’t be Shane.

The thought made her pause.

She’d been rejecting him all this time because of how things played out in the book-convinced that the story would eventually drag him back to Stella’s side.

But only now did it hit her. The man standing in front of her wasn’t that flat, one-dimensional “naive genius” from the pages. He was flesh and blood. He had a soul.

He wasn’t just “Stella’s most unremarkable mate.” He wasn’t some helpless fool who needed the other guys to bail him out. He wasn’t a cardboard cutout the author had slapped together to make Stella look more desirable.

He was real.

In the twenty-plus days she’d spent with him, every single thing Shane had done proved he was nothing like the clueless softie the plot had scripted him to be.

Seeing Layla zone out, Shane tugged at his shirt hem. “What I mean is–if you say no again, it just means I didn’t do well enough. So I’ll try harder next time.”

Layla gave a small nod. “Mm.”

Her voice was barely a whisper-but Shane’s eyes lit up like fireworks. “What did you say?”

“Nothing.”

“You said something.”

“What did I say?”

“You said yes.
