Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 95

Chapter 95 The Blueprint

Shane washed the vegetables. Layla sliced the meat.

Yates gathered firewood off to the side.

[Gotta say this little family of three is pretty heartwarming.]

[Mom, Dad, and the kid? Is Yates the kind of kid who interrupts his parents’ alone time and gets kicked ou of the house?]

[Probably not. Prof. Slater might actually do that, but Yates has better sense.]

At dinner, Yates finally spoke up, “Layla, we’re running low on firewood. I was thinking I’d go chop some

tomorrow.”

“No need.” Layla ate the venison Shane had put in her bowl. “People will be bringing us firewood from now

on.”

Yates didn’t know what Layla was planning. He looked skeptical.

Shane, on the other hand, looked at Layla with pure admiration.

He could more or less see where she was going with this. It was a business model.

After dinner, Yates volunteered to do the dishes. Layla took Shane’s hand and walked him around the stone

cave.

She hadn’t originally planned to bring him along, but he was being impossibly clingy, refusing to leave her side for even a second.

He could follow her around like a puppy.

“We could build a heated sleeping platform here,” Layla said. “Then move the stove, the table, and the chairs in here. Put a door at the entrance to block the wind. Otherwise, winter is going to be rough.”

Shane nodded along, then asked, “What’s a heated sleeping platform?”

“It’s a heating system for cold climates. You can also sleep on it.” Layla explained the basic principle.

Shane looked thoughtful. “Wouldn’t that work for a wall too?”

“You mean a heated wall? That’s doable. Put it next to the platform, and it’ll keep you warm when you lean against it.”

“Can you build it?” Shane asked.

“I’ve never done it before. But I can try.”

“Let me do it. I’m good with my hands.”

Layla didn’t refuse.

Chapter 95 The Blueprint

Sure, having a genius mech designer build a clay sleeping platform was maybe a little beneath his pay grade. But it was still better than relying on sheer willpower to survive the winter.

Within half an hour, they’d mapped out the whole layout of the cave.

Layla said, “It’s a shame the cave is so small. And sleeping on the ground on this planet isn’t safe, Otherwise. I’d actually prefer sleeping in here.”

“Caves are damp. Even with the platform and the heated wall, cold will still seep up from the ground. We don’t have the means to fix that completely. The treehouse is better.”

Shane dragged a stool and a small table into the cave and sat down to draw up plans. Layla/sat beside him, offering suggestions here and there. Before long, the design was nearly complete.

“We’ll start tomorrow.”

“Actually,” Layla said, “you probably don’t need to do this kind of heavy labor yourself.”

Her workers would arrive tomorrow. Why make Shane work so hard?

“Speaking of which-once winter hits, will it be harder to find what you’re looking for?”

“If it doesn’t snow, we’ll be fine. If it snows, it’ll get tricky.” When it came to serious matters, Shane looked troubled.

Snow would bury a lot of clues.

And in winter, birds and animals would be less active.

Tracking them would become much harder.

“It’s fine. Take your time. Three months if you need it. A year if you need it. Hell, if it takes a few years, that’s fine too. Once this planet belongs to us, I’ll hire people to help you look.”

Shane laughed at that, “You’re that confident we’ll get it?”

“Why else would you be here?”

“If there’s even the slightest chance, I have to try,” he said.

[Great. Now I’m even more confused.]

[What are they looking for? I’m dying of curiosity. Just tell me. What’s the harm? I hate it when people leave me hanging. Even if it’s Prof. Slater and Layla doing it.]

Layla was about to say something else when Yates’ head poked through the cave entrance.

“Layla, I need a jar.”

Layla pointed vaguely toward the back of the cave.
