Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 97

Chapter 97 A Twinge of Sympathy for Layla

Layla was already too keyed up to sleep. And Shane kept reaching out. Every little touch wound her tighter. and finally her temper snapped.

Under the covers, she grabbed his hand, almost angrily. “Stop fidgeting!”

She’d grabbed his hand in frustration, but she hadn’t pushed him away. Shane figured he understood what she meant.

She was embarrassed. Flustered. Taking it out on him.

“Okay. I’ll stop. Sleep.”

[Stop what? Lift the covers and let me see.]

[Look at that bump under the blanket. The lovebirds are holding hands in secret.]

[Just holding hands? Nothing else?]

[While the couple flirts next door, Yates is snoring away.]

[No way. Yates never snores.]

[How do you know?]

[I’m his mother. How do you think I know?]

[Look at me! Do you think I’m good enough for him?]

The Planet Frontier was silent as the grave. But back on Planet Central, the lights blazed bright.

Ciara stared at the report her assistant had brought her. She threw her cup to the floor in rage. “That wretched girl. If I’d known it would come to this, I never would have brought her back. My poor Stella has suffered.”

Beastkin generally lived long lives.

Male beastkin lived to around a hundred and fifty on average. Those from wealthy families who didn’t have to work too hard, with good medical care, often lived to two hundred.

Females had shorter lifespans, but still averaged around a hundred and twenty.

For someone like Ciara, with the best living conditions and medical care money could buy-her lifespan was probably comparable to a male’s.

She was middle-aged but showed no signs of aging. If anything, the passage of time had only added to her unique charm and elegance.

But right now, that elegant face was twisted with fury.

“Damn Layla. Damn Shane.”

Chapter 9 A Twinge of Sympathy for Layla

If Layla had never come back, her precious daughter would never have been subjected to all this abuse

Stella had always been the brightest star. The nation’s sweetheart since childhood.

If not for Layla, Stella would never have faced such criticism.

“I never should have brought her back.

“And that Shane. That stubborn, backward Slater family. I decide who the Grant heiress is. No one else What good is blood?”

She slammed her fist on the table, ranting for a long time before she finally calmed down slightly. Then her head snapped up and she glared at her assistant. “Handle it. Make sure Layla never recovers from this. I want her out of the show. I want her to stop competing with Stella.”

Xavier Nash, the assistant, looked at her in shock. “Madam, with all due respect, Ms. Hale is still your biological daughter.”

“So what? Crude, reckless, vicious, selfish. If the Grant family falls into the hands of someone like that, there will never be peace again.”

. Ciara had made up her mind. Xavier, however reluctant, had no choice but to agree. He ventured cautiously, “It’s just… Ms. Hale seems quite stubborn. Ordinary methods may not make her yield.

“In the beginning, General Hartwell tried to use the production crew to pressure her into quitting. Not only did she refuse, but she also cursed him out. Then she went out of her way to defy him at every turn. Not only did he fail to get rid of her, now he’s practically at her mercy.”

Xavier probably shouldn’t have brought that up. The moment he did, Ciara’s fury flared even hotter. “That ill-mannered creature. She dares to offend even Liam.

“This is exactly why I can’t leave the family to her. She’d run it into the ground within a year.”

Xavier stood to the side, not daring to speak. Ciara could rant all she wanted-she was the boss. He was just an assistant. He couldn’t join in.

“Madam?” After a long silence, as Ciara showed no sign of stopping, Xavier finally spoke up, “About Ms. Hale…”

“Do whatever it takes to get her off that show. Break her legs and throw her out if you have to.”

A chill ran down Xavier’s spine. He lowered his head even further, not daring to look Ciara in the face. “Yes, Madam.”

“Ciara?” A gentle voice came from outside the door, with a hint of affection beneath the softness. “What’s got you so worked up?”
