Beast Love Show: All For Her (by Sylvester Raven) novel Chapter 98

Chapter 98 The Whole Crew Arrives

Xavier walked out of the study. Even from a distance, he could still hear Ciara’s furious voice. “It’s all that wretched girl’s fault. I always said we should just…”

He didn’t catch the rest, but he could imagine just how much Ciara despised Layla.

But he was just an employee. He did what he was told. Right or wrong?

What did right or wrong matter compared to a paycheck?

One couldn’t exactly let a little thing like conscience get in the way of making a living.

The night passed.

Yates had known there would be trouble today, so he got up early and made breakfast, then called up to Layla and Shane to come eat.

When his voice floated up from below, Layla was lying in Shane’s arms. His hand rested on her waist, his whole body curled around hers.

Truth be told, Shane had woken up when Yates got up. But with her warm and soft body in his arms, he couldn’t bring himself to move.

It was only when Yates called them to get up and he couldn’t pretend anymore that he gently patted Layla on the back. “Layla. Time to get up.”

Layla rubbed her eyes. She didn’t really want to move.

The weather had been getting colder lately. Getting out from under the covers meant facing the cold.

“We really need to build that heated platform soon.”

Beastkin weren’t all that sensitive to the cold, but Layla found that once the temperature dropped, all she wanted to do was stay curled up under the blankets and hibernate.

Shane could see how lazy the cold made her. He usually couldn’t stand spoiled, lazy people. But seeing Layla like this? He just found it endearing.

“We’ll build it today,” Shane said.

“Forget about looking for the thing?”

“A day or two won’t matter.” There was trouble coming to their door today. As the male of the house-the one who was supposed to stand tall and protect his family-he couldn’t exactly hide away and leave Layla to face it alone.

Besides, he’d already searched all the nearby areas. To go further, he’d need at least two days round-trip. He couldn’t leave until he knew things were settled at home.

“Then let’s get the house squared away first. Once we have everything ready for winter, I’ll come with you.”

Layla climbed out of bed. Shane picked up the furs they’d slept on and shook them out.

Chapter 98 The Whole Crew Arrives

Layla had told him that beating the furs regularly kept them soft and warm.

[Wait… didn’t these two just confess yesterday? How are they already acting like an old married couple?]

[Did you notice? Layla actually looked kinda small and soft in Prof. Slater’s arms.]

[I noticed. Hard to believe she’s supposed to be the big, tough mate. Prof. Slater’s just too tall.

[Tall as he is, he’s still building her a heated platform and making the bed. Never thought I’d see the day Prof. Slater got so domesticated.]

[Who would’ve guessed? They’ve both got that unexpected soft side.]

[Honestly, I’m more excited about today. I bet Layla isn’t giving up that salt without a fight.]

[No kidding. She’s playing him hard. Only Caleb falls for it. What’s wrong with him? His ego is unreal.]

Caleb’s ego really was something else.

Layla had to admit that Caleb wasn’t completely useless. He’d actually managed to gather everyone.

Even Carson and Oliver, whom Layla hadn’t seen since the show started, showed up.

The entertainment industry really was full of beautiful people.

A whole circle of them stood in her yard.

Good thing Layla had fenced off a big area. Otherwise, there wouldn’t have been room for all of them.

Aside from the twelve males already claimed by various females, there were only three left whom Layla hadn’t met or worked with.

First was Blaze Colton, a tiger beastkin. He was the entertainment industry’s poster boy for military roles, starring only in war dramas. Broad-shouldered, with a slender waist and sharp good looks, he was impossible not to notice.
