All she could do was submit as he plundered her mouth without a shred of restraint.
An indeterminate amount of time passed.
Sienna’s hands literally hurt from hitting him, and the last traces of oxygen had been thoroughly drained from her lungs.
Finally, Jarred pulled away.
Seething with rage, Sienna raised her hand to slap him across the face again.
The man issued a dark, menacing warning. "If you don't care about putting on a show for my entire precinct, I can be equally shameless. Try it and find out."
Reluctantly, Sienna lowered her hand.
Jarred stared at her rare display of fury, a lazy smirk pulling at his lips. "What exactly did I do to piss you off this time?"
Sienna’s eyes were freezing cold. "Are you going to look me in the eye and say you had nothing to do with Luna's new charges?"
Jarred's brow furrowed slightly as he gave a dismissive reply. "It wasn't me. I just got the briefing myself."
Sienna studied the murky shadows in his eyes, her brow knitting into a tight knot.
Jarred chuckled, utterly unconcerned. "I read the files. They're full of sloppy holes. I'm incapable of producing something that aggressively idiotic."
She genuinely wanted to punch him.
Sienna narrowed her eyes, returning her expression to a placid mask. Her words, however, were cold enough to freeze water.
"If I find out you had a hand in this, and the law can't touch you... I will kill you myself."
Jarred watched her fiercely feral expression, the smile on his lips never fading.
Catching the dark intent brewing in his gaze, Sienna suppressed a flicker of panic, spinning on her heel to leave.
But exactly as she had predicted, the man clamped his hand securely around her wrist the moment she turned.
He gave a sharp tug, hauling her flush against his chest.
"You slapped me, ruined my uniform with hot tea, and smashed my laptop. Sweetheart, did you honestly think you could just walk out?"
His large hand possessively circled her waist.
As he spoke, his thin lips brushed deliberately against her earlobe, his hot breath teasing her most sensitive nerves.
Sienna took a deep breath, tilting her head away to dodge his intentionally intimate proximity. She spoke with cold logic.
