On the other end of the line, York immediately let out a sigh of relief. "What time are you free tomorrow?"

"The afternoon," Willow replied. She planned to practice piano in the morning.

York hummed in agreement. "Get some rest, then. I won't bother you anymore."

Willow didn't say goodbye, simply hanging up the phone.

Vivienne raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in her eye. "What's this? A boyfriend?"

Willow laughed. "Just some guy!"

Seeing that she didn't want to elaborate, Vivienne didn't pry. Instead, she turned to Jude. "Weren't you planning on competing next year? Are you sure you want to go this year?"

Willow's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively looked at Jude. Had she messed up his plans?

Jude could see the guilt hidden in her eyes and immediately smirked. "I originally wanted to take some time to refine my skills, but thinking about it, there's no need. I'll still crush him!"

Of course, Jude's ultimate goal was to help Willow get revenge and make her feel better.

Jude pretended to be upset. "Come on, I'm the one who's going to be doing the actual crushing! Shouldn't you be thanking me?"

Willow quickly appeased him. "I know you're the best! As your boss, I'm giving you a raise right now! A whole ten dollars!"

"Wow! That's a fortune!" Jude played along.

Willow's eyes curved in a bright smile. She joked around with them for a bit longer before getting ready to head home for bed, but Genevieve stopped her right as she was about to leave.
