Whatever lingering awkwardness had been weighing on Willow's mind instantly vanished.
Her lips curled into a smirk. This court summons couldn't have come at a better time.
The mere thought of finally severing all legal ties with the Shaw family put her in an exceptionally good mood.
As for this so-called confession banquet...
Willow decided not to overthink it. Whether Lucian was the main event or not, she had to go. Meeting Silas Yale was her absolute priority.
Looking up, she smiled warmly at Adelina. "Don't worry, I'll prep everything tonight. I definitely won't embarrass you!"
Adelina chuckled softly. "No need to overdress. Mr. Yale isn't fond of people who try too hard with their appearance."
Willow raised an eyebrow. No wonder he had absolutely refused to take Tessa as a student in her past life. Tessa was practically a walking embodiment of everything he despised.
After chatting with Adelina a bit longer, they finalized the details. The Jagger family's banquet was scheduled for 2:00 PM the following day. Since the venue was a bit out of the way, the commute would take around two hours.
They agreed to meet at 10:00 AM sharp.
With the schedule locked in, they parted ways, and Willow retreated to her room to read.
Just as she was getting ready for bed, her phone rang. It was Tessa.
Willow arched an eyebrow. Instead of hanging up, she leisurely answered and hit the record button. She secretly hoped Tessa would say something incredibly incriminating that could be used as evidence later.
But surprisingly, Tessa didn't launch into a tirade. Instead, her voice was unsettlingly calm. "Willow, do you want to know how your parents actually died?"
That single, short sentence made Willow freeze. Instantly, her eyes grew cold, brimming with lethal intent and sheer disgust.
When Willow didn't respond immediately, Tessa continued, completely unfazed. "Let's meet tomorrow at 11 AM. I have a lot of things you're going to want to hear."
Her tone was laced with a smug, seductive arrogance. She clearly believed this was the ultimate bait, the one thing Willow could never resist.
Willow lowered her gaze, hiding the icy calculation in her eyes, and purposefully injected panic into her voice. "Tess, you better not be lying to me. Because if you are, I will make you pay for it."
Hearing the desperation, Tessa smirked on the other end of the line. She knew Willow was incredibly easy to manipulate when it came to her parents. She wouldn't even ask for proof; she would just blindly believe it.
Using this excuse to stall her was going to work flawlessly.
