Ten agonizing minutes passed, yet no reply came through.
Willow's gaze grew darker. Was she really overthinking things?
She stared at the screen, her mind racing with possibilities.
A second later, York returned with the ice cream. A teasing lilt touched his voice. "What are you looking at? You seem deeply engrossed."
Willow seamlessly locked her phone, flashing an innocently bright smile as she looked up. "Just watching some trending videos. Killing time on my phone."
York didn't press the issue. He pushed the dessert toward her. "One vanilla, one chocolate. Which would you prefer?"
Willow pulled the chocolate one closer and took a small bite. It was rich and smooth, sweet without being overpowering.
It was absolutely delicious.
Willow narrowed her eyes in delight and took another bite.
Seeing her enjoy it, a soft glow illuminated York's eyes. Willow felt incredibly uncomfortable under his gaze. She couldn't quite explain it, but this entire encounter with him had felt terribly wrong...
He was acting like a peacock flaunting his feathers during mating season.
As soon as the thought entered her mind, Willow aggressively shook it off.
Who knew, maybe he was just naturally this flirtatious?
Taking another bite of her ice cream, Willow finally got to business. "What kind of vibe are you looking for with the music?"
York snapped out of his trance and adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses. "I want you to compose the theme song for my new production. I just bought the script a few days ago. It's a modern urban revenge story. The cast hasn't been finalized yet. If you have anyone in mind, feel free to recommend them."
