Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 245

How could this be happening?

Elias already wanted a divorce. If the Shaw family kicked her out too, she would have absolutely nothing left!

Tessa had spent over a decade meticulously scheming to secure her current status. How could she possibly accept walking away in disgrace?

She took a deep breath, refusing to stand up. Instead, she remained crumpled on the ground, staring at Julian with profound grievance. "Julian... did I do something to upset you?"

"You know exactly what you did," Julian snapped, his eyes completely bloodshot. He glared at Tessa, the familiar warmth in his gaze utterly replaced by raw hatred.

Tessa met his eyes, recoiled from the scorching fury in them, and hastily lowered her gaze.

Silas couldn't stand watching this any longer. He hurried forward to help Tessa up, his tone edged with reproach as he addressed Julian. "Julian, I know you're angry, but you can't treat Tessa like this. Maybe there was a misunderstanding in the past, but all the care she's shown you over the years is real. How can you bully her?"

Seeing someone step up to defend her, Tessa lowered her eyes pitifully and stayed silent. The quieter she was, the more fragile she appeared.

Silas's protective instincts kicked into overdrive. Braving Julian's shocked glare, he forced himself to continue. "Besides, you're the one who jumped to conclusions. Tessa never actually said she submitted the evidence... You overthought it. You can't blame her for that, can you?"

Hearing this, Julian let out a dark, furious laugh.

If Tessa hadn't deliberately misled him, how could he have ever come to that conclusion?

He stared intensely at Silas, and in that split second, he finally understood how Willow used to feel.

So this was what it felt like to be blindly, unfairly accused... It was agonizing.

How many times had Willow endured this over the years?
