Lucian sure cared a lot about Willow to react this strongly over a simple conversation.
Elias immediately knitted his brows, his gaze locking onto Lucian. He remembered the man; he knew he was from the Jagger family.
But so what?
Even if he was a Jagger, he was just an unfavored illegitimate son. He couldn't make any real waves.
Thinking of this, a sneer flashed across Elias's eyes. "You again. You really are like a lingering ghost. Don't tell me you actually think Willow is interested in you? I suggest you stop daydreaming! To her, you're just a trivial distraction when she's bored! Now that she has me, she won't even spare you a second glance!"
A glint of dark malice flickered in Lucian's eyes, though his face remained completely impassive.
Before he could speak, a burst of laughter erupted right next to him. "A distraction? Well said!"
The familiar voice made Willow uncontrollably knit her brows. She turned her head and was greeted by the sight of a thoroughly amused Sterling.
A fleeting trace of profound annoyance flashed through her eyes. It vanished quickly, but Sterling caught it immediately.
Instantly, the smile on Sterling's lips began to fade.
His heart sank steadily, brimming with an unbearable, sour ache.
Did Willow really hate him that much?
Hate him so much that just one look at him filled her with disgust?
Elias was getting impatient with the interruptions. He instinctively glanced over and immediately spotted Sterling.
Surprise flashed across his face. He stood up politely, looking at Sterling with slight astonishment. "Mr. Jagger? What are you doing here?"
Sterling's expression was icy. He ignored Elias entirely and looked straight at Willow. "Do you really hate me that much?"
Elias froze for a second. Then, as if suddenly remembering something, a chill crept up his spine.
Not long ago, Sterling had publicly confessed his feelings for Willow!
