Sterling let out an abrupt laugh, shaking so hard his cane slipped to the side.
The laughter gave Elias the creeps. Just as he was about to speak, Sterling said, "You're absolutely right. He's just an unfavored illegitimate son! If you kill him, you won't face any consequences. In fact, I'd be extremely grateful!"
Elias breathed a sigh of relief and asked in a teasing tone, "You have beef with him?"
"I do," Sterling smiled. "He stole the woman I want. Don't you think that's hateful?"
The smile on Elias's face instantly froze. Stole the woman he wanted?
Was he talking about Willow?
Then didn't that make him... an enemy of Sterling as well?
A flicker of inner conflict flashed through Elias's eyes.
Sterling kept smiling. "Don't worry. It's just a woman; I don't mind sharing her with you. As long as you do exactly what I say, we'll be fine."
Elias pondered for two seconds, then nodded firmly. "Deal."

Meanwhile, Willow and Lucian had already arrived at the Shaw Estate.
Seeing the familiar yet foreign architecture, a storm of complicated emotions brewed in Willow's eyes.
She stepped onto the bluestone stairs of the villa. When she was little, she used to play hopscotch on these very steps while her parents laughed nearby.
As she grew older, she was once forced to kneel on these stones as punishment just for taking an extra bite of a cake Tessa liked. She had cried and begged for mercy, but no one cared.
Now, she was walking up them once again.
Not as the beloved child she once was, nor as the bullied victim she became, but as an avenger demanding absolute justice.
Every ounce of suffering she endured had to be paid back in full!
