Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 273

Thinking about this, Willow let out a mocking laugh before shooting back sharply, "Mrs. Landon, I'm going to say this one last time. Stop trying to use me for your little schemes. My patience is wearing thin. But if you really want me to take care of Tessa during her recovery, fine."

Beatrice's expression was ugly during the first half of the speech, but the final sentence instantly smoothed her features.

In her mind, this was a clear sign of surrender. She knew it! No matter how much Willow pretended not to care, deep down she still loved Elias and desperately wanted to be a Landon.

With that thought, Beatrice was practically giddy. She even started calculating how much they could squeeze out of Willow. Willow was a famous pianist now, and the copyright fees for just one of her songs were astronomical. If they made Willow sign those rights over to the Landons for free, the annual dividends would be massive.

Free money—who would say no to that?

A smug look had just settled onto her face when she heard Willow enunciate each word clearly: "That is, if you don't mind losing a grandchild."

Beatrice's brain short-circuited for a second, unable to process what she had just heard.

The next moment, the meaning of Willow's words finally clicked, and she trembled with rage. "Willow! How could you be so vicious? That's Elias's child!"

Willow tilted her head, genuinely perplexed. "And? What does that have to do with me? I didn't birth it. Plus, by your own logic, Tessa is the other woman. How friendly do you expect me to be to my rival's kid?"

Beatrice took a deep breath and roared through gritted teeth, "Willow!"

Willow clicked her tongue impatiently and drawled, "Since you love playing the generous matriarch so much, why don't you have your husband take a few mistresses? He can father a few more kids to satisfy your burning desire to play house."

Beatrice flew into a blind rage, instantly shedding every ounce of her high-society elegance as she screamed curses at Willow.

Willow didn't bother listening to a single word and hung up the phone.

Look at that. Beatrice demanded that others play stepmother with all this self-righteous preaching, but the moment the tables were turned, she couldn't handle it.

Willow clicked her tongue again, thinking her idea was actually brilliant. She should find a few socialites to seduce Lawrence Landon and give Elias a few illegitimate brothers. Let's see if he still had the free time to play the devoted lover and disgust her then!

While Willow was in high spirits, Beatrice was back at the estate, throwing a fit and smashing several antique vases.

Back at the lab, Tabitha and Adelina were bent over with laughter, repeatedly giving Willow a thumbs-up. "Your mouth deserves a spot on the world heritage list."

Willow thought back. She was just getting warmed up.

If Jude had been the one talking, his sharp tongue could have convinced Elias that he was the illegitimate child.

She really needed to take notes from him!
