Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 30

Leo chimed in immediately, his voice booming with authority. "Exactly! Willow, stop embarrassing yourself! If you have a problem, wait until the banquet is over! Are you really going to make Asher suffer through your temper tantrums too?"

Willow instinctively glanced at Asher in his wheelchair. He didn't say a word, but his eyes were filled with heavy disappointment.

In the past, that look would have broken her. She used to be terrified of disappointing the one brother who had actually treated her well.

But now, she knew Asher had chosen his side a long time ago. She wasn't going to play the fool anymore.

They were the ones actively stealing from her, so why was she the villain?

Before Willow could fire back, Julian stepped up, desperately trying to salvage Tessa's image. "I apologize for the scene, everyone. Willow has never gotten along with Tessa. Whenever Tessa achieves something, Willow throws a fit and demands the exact same treatment. But you can't just demand a prestigious mentorship. We told her no, and that's why she's acting like this..."

In just a few sentences, they expertly painted Willow as a bitter, manipulative, and deeply jealous sibling.

The guests exchanged knowing looks, their faces mirroring identical expressions of disgust.

Willow looked up and locked eyes with Tessa.

Leaning against Elias's chest, Tessa's eyes gleamed with concealed triumph, a smug smirk threatening to break through her innocent facade.

She was absolutely certain Willow would back down. There wasn't a shred of fear in her eyes.

And in that moment, Willow smiled. She strode confidently onto the stage and snatched the microphone right off its stand.

Willow had always been so submissive that Xavier and the others didn't even process what was happening until it was too late to stop her.

As Tessa's face drained of color, Willow's voice echoed through the venue, laced with sharp mockery. "Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to show you something incredibly entertaining. Something about a certain 'genius pianist' and her shameless plagiarism!"

Tessa's demeanor shattered. She lunged forward to grab the mic, but Willow easily dodged her.

Gritting her teeth, Tessa forced herself to sound hysterical yet reasonable. "Willow! Stop lying! That composition is my original work! This is the first time I've ever played it in public, you won't find it anywhere else on the internet! How dare you accuse me of stealing it?!"
