There was no escape!
Absolutely nowhere to run!
Tessa’s breathing grew erratic, sending her into a violent fit of coughing that felt as if she were hacking up her lungs.
At this moment, true regret washed over her. She never should have provoked Willow!
She should have just kept her head down, had the baby, and solidified her position in the Landon family before coming after her!
But no matter how much she regretted it, it was too late.
The police cars came to a halt, and the officers stepped out, approaching steadily.
Seeing that everyone was gathered, Willow smirked and resumed playing the recording.
The damning evidence, confessed from Tessa’s own lips, played clearly for everyone to hear: [Willow, I handpicked these men just for you. They’re all carrying either HIV or syphilis. They’re the perfect match for you.]
That single, brief sentence acted as the spark that lit the fuse.
Xavier snapped out of his horrifying memories, his gaze locking onto Tessa with glacial hostility.
Julian looked stunned for a brief second before a thick layer of guilt and regret flooded his eyes. He hadn't known any of this; otherwise, he never would have spoken up to defend Tessa earlier.
The leading officer immediately leveled a stern glare at Tessa. "Who called this in, and what is the meaning of this recording?"
Willow smiled and answered, "I made the call. I just recorded this audio, and the person speaking is this woman right here, Ms. Thorne."
Tessa stared at Willow with a deathly pale face, her eyes brimming with venomous resentment. She ground her teeth and hissed, "Willow, are you absolutely certain you want to take this to the point of no return?"
