Silas hesitated for a second before saying, "But isn't this drug your senior colleague's—"
"Silas." Tessa cut him off sharply. "She only provided the initial concept. I am the one actually developing the project! Don't ever say that again!"
Silas was taken aback by the venom in her eyes. It took him a long moment to slowly nod in agreement.
Satisfied, Tessa stood up, cast one last venomous glance at the building, and walked away.
Meanwhile, back inside, Willow arched an eyebrow, entirely unfazed by the dramatic exit.
She was confident in her abilities. Even if York hadn't bought out Obsidian Heart, she still would have secured the theme song simply because she wanted it.
After all, the chart-topping hits sitting on global music boards under her name weren't just for show.
She had already put the incident out of her mind. Lucian, however, leaned in close, his voice low and protective. "Don't listen to the ravings of a lunatic, Willow. You're brilliant."
Willow raised an eyebrow, amused. "You're pretty good at comforting people. Where did you learn that?"
From the side, York seamlessly interjected, "Where else? Probably practiced on Daphne Solano."
Lucian's eyes instantly narrowed into dangerous slits, radiating a freezing aura. "Mr. Lockwood is quite the liar. You know perfectly well I have zero private contact with Daphne, yet you spout nonsense so easily."
He paused, then turned back to Willow, smoothly planting a seed of doubt. "Willow, you really shouldn't be friends with chronic liars. Who knows when he might decide to con you next?"
York hadn't expected his casual jab to backfire so aggressively. He let out a scoff of disbelief, opening his mouth to fire back, but Willow cut them both off.
"Enough. Let's review the first draft of the theme song and see what needs adjusting."
With her word as absolute law, the two men exchanged a final, hostile glare before snapping their mouths shut.
