'W'?
What 'W'?
York was genuinely baffled now. "Gorgeous, I have no idea what you're talking about."
Willow paused. The casual way York tossed out the pet name perfectly mirrored the recurring messages in her private inbox, blending seamlessly together.
'W' also loved calling her that.
It was a perfect match.
Even though York didn't outright admit it, Willow was ninety percent sure. Otherwise, she couldn't find a single logical reason why a powerful stranger would repeatedly help her and even stick around after the banquet ended.
But if he was 'W', everything made perfect sense.
Her demeanor instantly softened. Before today, she had always assumed 'W' was a woman. She never imagined her mysterious sponsor was such a roguish playboy, a far cry from the clingy persona in her direct messages.
She smiled. "Want to add me on Pulse?"
York hesitated for a moment but couldn't refuse. He obediently pulled up his QR code for her to scan.
In reality, he was terrified Willow might go home and complain to Lucian.
After all, his precious bonus was still firmly locked in Lucian's iron grip.
Capitalists! Absolute bloodsucking capitalists! Constantly holding millions of dollars over his head to extort his labor!
Would a proud man like him truly bow down for a few million dollars?
Yes. Yes, he would.
York sighed. After adding her on Pulse, he asked, "Where are you heading next?"
Willow replied, "Going home. I have a little more evidence I need to post."
York grinned. "Alright, I'll give you a ride."
His mission was finally wrapping up, and York was buzzing with the thrill of clocking out.
Willow blinked in alarm. There was no way she could let him drive her home!
First, she didn't want 'W' finding out she had a man living with her, fearful it might cause unnecessary misunderstandings about her private life.
