Curtis's eyes lit up, and he quickly latched onto the excuse. "Exactly! You can't just slander me like this!"
Hearing this, Willow looked down and pulled out her phone. Using Lucian's broad back as a shield, her fingers flew across the screen. In less than ten minutes, she pulled up a grainy security video.
She gently pushed Lucian aside and, under his slightly surprised gaze, walked straight up to Wyatt Warren. "May I borrow the big screen?"
Wyatt hesitated, casting a subtle glance at Lucian. When Lucian gave an imperceptible nod, Wyatt immediately agreed. "Of course!"
Willow let out a soft chuckle. A deep sense of dread washed over Tessa.
Tessa lunged forward to grab the phone, but Willow sidestepped effortlessly. Grasping at thin air, Tessa tumbled awkwardly to the floor, landing right at Leo's feet.
Before she could even put on her usual victim act, her own voice echoed from the massive screens above.
"Curtis, I'm paying you this money to crush Willow into the dirt. No matter how good her piece is, you have to give her a zero! Make up whatever excuse you want—three million dollars doesn't come free!"
Tessa froze completely. She looked up at the grainy footage on the screen in absolute horror, her mind practically exploding!
She had been so careful! How could someone have filmed her? They even caught her face!
Even though the quality was poor, it was undeniably her. Even the necklace she was wearing matched perfectly!
Only one thought echoed in Curtis's mind: it was over. It was all over!
The moment the footage played, it nailed their coffins shut.
How was he supposed to talk his way out of this?
Lucian's gaze rested on Willow's face, a flicker of intrigue in his eyes. Did Willow know about Tessa and Curtis's scheme from the start, or had she hacked into the cameras on the fly?
Even his own executive assistant hadn't been able to dig up this specific footage. How did Willow manage it?
