Chapter 245
Elara’s POV
I hopped out of the car in front of the clinic, told Chloe to drive safe, then turned and hurried Inside.
The door to my office was open. I assumed the cleaning staff were inside.
I hadn’t even fully stepped in when a boy with a head of long hair came barreling toward me.
His voice, still caught in that awkward stage between childhood and adulthood, was especially gruff.
“Elara! Did you miss me!”
I couldn’t help but laugh, giving him a quick hug and ruffling his shaggy hair.
“When did you get back?”
“Just the day before yesterday. Showed up at my place last night and insisted I bring him to see you at the clinic today,” Elías said, walking in with a smile. He then shot a look at his nephew.
“Since you have nothing better to do right now, you should go get this mop of yours cut. Save your mother from constantly complaining to me about it.”
Ever since the kid went abroad with his dad a few years back, his hair had just gotten longer and longer.
Octavius wasn’t having it. He tugged on my sleeve pleadingly. “Tell him to stop nagging me! He’s been at it since last night, just like Mom.”
Elias corrected him, “It’s Auntie. Where are your manners?”
Octavius just grinned. “How about ‘big sister‘ instead? Mom said it’s fine to call any single woman ‘big sister‘.”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Elias said, glancing at his watch with a light chuckle. “Well, your ‘big sister‘ has to work now. Go wait in my office. Don’t bother her while she’s working.”
Octavius was a good kid, cheerful and outgoing. He let go of my arm. “Okay, big sister. I’ll wait for you outside. Let’s have lunch together when you’re done, yeah?”
“Sounds good,” I agreed with a smile.
The morning was a steady stream of patients. Remembering my promise to Octavius, I didn’t add too many extra appointments, prioritizing the ones who had traveled from out of town.
Elias and Octavius were both waiting by my office door when I finished up.
Elias and Octavius were both waiting by my office door when I finished up. Since Octavius hadn’t been back in the country for a while, we decided to grab lunch at Villa Mare, a cozy Mediterranean bistro known for its seasonal dishes.
The three of us reached the restaurant entrance just as another group approached from nearby.
Leading them was Gavin, impeccable in his suit, his expression neutral as he spoke quietly with a middle–aged man beside him. He radiated that aura of someone used to being in charge. Vera followed a step behind, holding some documents.
On his other side was a woman, probably just in her early twenties, sticking close to him with a bright, eager smile on her face.

Chapter 245
I looked away and was about to follow Ellas and Octavius inside when a deep, stendy voice called out from behind me.
“Jesse. Over here for a second.” I paused, motioning for Ellas and the others to go on ahead before turning to walk toward Gavin’s group.
Gavin took two steps forward, creating some distance from the others, and reached out to ruffle my hair. “Here for lunch with Elias?
I nodded. “Yeah.”
“President Zhang,” Gavin said, glancing at the middle aged man beside him, his tone completely matter–of–fact. “Let me introduce you. This is my girlfriend, Elara.”
I froze, my head snapping up. Meeting his direct gaze, my heart did a weird, unpredictable little stutter.
Since when am I the girlfriend?
