Louie’s words were like a sharp knife, piercing deep into the three mercenaries‘ hearts. 

With their lies exposed, the three mercenaries stopped arguing. They lowered their heads, resigned to let Louie decide their fate. 

Louie wouldn’t kill them. If he had wanted to, he would have done so when he captured them. 

‘It’s best to leave traitors like them to Briar. It will also give her a chance to vent her anger, thought Louie. 

When Louie returned with three mercenaries, Hamish saw them and teased with a smile, “Well now! Quite a haul!” 

Louie threw the men to the ground, ignoring their grimaces of pain, and said to Hamish and Ashton, “Hamish. Ashton, these three were once cadets at DDC Vanguard Mercenary Special Operations Base. I didn’t kill them, leaving them for Briar to handle personally.” 

Ashton’s previously nonchalant gaze suddenly turned sharp. “They betrayed Briar?” 

“Yes.” Louie had nothing to hide and immediately explained they were former cadets from the base. 

Ashton’s gaze toward the three men changed again, his killing intent palpable, but he did not act. Instead, he nodded. “They certainly deserve to die. Let’s leave them for Briar to deal with.” 

Hamish silently mourned the miserable fate that awaited the three men. 

Briar was consumed with thoughts of revenge. By crossing her path now, those three would be broken, if not killed. 

The three mercenaries seemed to realize their fate, and the tough facade they were putting on immediately crumbled. 

They shuddered at the thought of the tactics Instructor Briar had taught them. 

As if Louie thought they weren’t scared enough, he said with a smile, “You don’t need to be so nervous. Briar’s methods aren’t as elaborate as they used to be. She usually prefers a clean and swift approach. I’m guessing you’ll only suffer the pain of a swift slash at most.” 

Wasn’t the pain of a swift slash more than enough? 

A swift slash wouldn’t kill them instantly; they’d rather be hit with a spray of bullets. 

However, it was useless to say anything now. Their death was almost certain.
