Billionaire's Match (by Tangy Candy) novel Chapter 56

Chapter 56

who had disappeared five years ago.

Angela appeared at the Fox residence for the first time at just twenty-two. Fresh out of a prestigious university, she had been hired as Trey’s tutor.

Initially, the Fox family had a favorable impression of Angela. But within months, Trey’s grandfather discovered a troubling closeness between her and Trey.

Their relationship, under the guise of tutoring, had been a secret courtship right under the family’s noses. The old man had erupted in fury, nearly making it impossible for Angela to remain in Goldmont City.

Everyone assumed that was the end of it. But when Trey started university and Angela conveniently secured a faculty position at the same institution, they rekindled their hidden romance.

The Fox family was forced to oscillate between disciplining Trey and threatening Angela, using a mix of carrots and sticks to force them apart.

It wasn’t until Trey became involved with Khloe that the family began to let the old scandal fade. Despite Khloe’s modest background, the shadow of the Angela debacle meant they had little choice but to turn a blind eye to his new choice.

Trey’s grandfather’s mistrust had lasted to the end. In his will, he had entrusted the family’s assets to his wife, determined to prevent any chance of Trey and Angela rekindling their relationship.

Stella stared at the photos until their edges blurred, then went through them again more slowly. They weren’t from some clandestine meeting; they were shot inside Trey’s own home.

Angela hadn’t just returned-she’d moved into his house.

That evening, Angela came back to find a new pair of women’s heels by the entrance-heels that were nothing like Khloe’s.

Her skin prickled. She turned to leave, but a voice cut through like ice.

“Well, well. Long time no see, Angela. Since when did you start living here? You couldn’t even bother to say hello?

Angela felt the blood drain from her face. She froze, her mouth trembling before she forced herself to look up. There stood Stella, wrapped in a shawl, gaze cold as a winter blade.

“Don’t misunderstand, Stella. I-there are reasons I’m staying here with Trey…” she began.

Stella cut her off. “You haven’t changed a bit. Still shameless as ever.”

Angela’s face went hard. She barely managed to open her mouth when a stinging slap landed across her cheek. Pain exploded; she reeled and clutched her face, stunned.

The servants rushed in at the sound, but with Stella in the room, no one dared step forward.

Upstairs a child’s voice pierced the commotion. Pete cried out loud, “Angela… help me!”

Stella had little patience for the adopted boy. She’d had him shut away rather than have him disturb her. But the child had heard Angela was home and had lunged toward the door; a servant had nearly failed to hold him back.

Stella’s eyes flashed.

“Are you all useless? Can’t even watch a child? Shut him up!” she snapped.

The servants, cowed, did as they were told-forcefully covering Pete’s mouth and dragging him back into the

room.

“Stella, you can pick on me, but don’t touch Pete!” Angela shouted, rushing forward to stop them.

Stella blocked her easily and shoved her down with surprising strength. Angela hit the floor.

“Trey is my son,” Stella hissed, spitting the words like venom. “You’re just an outsider-a shameless whore, a disgrace who seduces men!”

Ever since she learned Angela was living with Trey, Stella had wanted, in private fantasies, to tear her apart.
