Sitting on the sofa, Aurelia felt blood continuously flowing beneath her. She immediately called 911.1

Dominic wouldn’t answer his phone.

Mary was freaking out. Finally, on the fifth try, Dominic picked

“What?” His voice was ice-cold.

“Mr. Hawthorne, please get home right now. Mrs.

As she spoke, she couldn’t help but glance at where Aurelia had been standing earlier.

There was blood on the floor.

A pause on the other end.

Then Dominic’s voice came through, even colder.
